    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 120-5

Dom Bess is off the mark with four through mid-wicket from a Kemar Roach full toss.

Bess' batting effort in the first innings was brief and frenetic - Yorkshire need a lot more from him this time.

They still need 34 to avoid an innings defeat.

  2. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 94-7 - lead by 113

Brookes is down the track to Zafar and swats the spinner over long on for six runs!

Brave shot under the circumstances - and some of the pressure is transferred back on to the hosts.

Three more runs comes from the last ball of the over and Brookes whips Dale through the on side for four.

    Worcs 390 v Notts 128 & 182-8 - trail by 80

Matthew Waite is in the attack and Jake Ball dabs a fairly wide ball off a thick edge to third man for four runs.

He picks up three more off the fourth ball - and this stand is getting more than a little annoying for the Pears.

    It's worth 40 so far.

WICKET Lyth c Patel b Roach 46published at 11:28 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 116-5

Great ball from Kemar Roach swings away from Adam Lyth who edges to Ryan Patel at third slip. Two wickets in three balls for Surrey and they will be looking to finish Yorkshire off in short order now.

Adam Lyth did nothing wrong there - that was a cracking delivery."

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 81-7 - lead by 100

Turn here for Zafar Gohar, who has had a fine match himself with five first innings scalps and a very entertaining 50 down the order yesterday.

No wickets for him in the second innings so far.

Ajeet Singh-Dale beats Brookes outside off with the fourth ball of the over and the batter turns the fifth into the on side for one.

The last ball is short, wide and slapped to third man for four by Davies to take the lead to 100.

  6. wicket

WICKET Fraine b Clark 13published at 11:25 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 116-4

It's been a painful match for Will Fraine.

Struck on the hand by Dan Worrall in the first innings, Jordan Clark produces a ball which cuts back off the seam and hits him on either the arm or the midriff before deflecting down onto the stumps.

Are Surrey just six wickets away from the title? Depends on what is happening at the Ageas Bowl as well.

  7. 50 runs

for Tom Taylorpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Somerset 389 v Northants 230-7

Tom Taylor carves Kasey Aldridge away for four to reach his first 50 of the season - and sixth in his career - from 69 balls.

He's clearly not in the mood to do a lot of running as that is 10 boundaries now in this innings.

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 116-3

Two successive play and misses by Adam Lyth - Kemar Roach can't believe neither delivery took the edge.

There was, though, a boundary in that over, driven through the covers by Will Fraine.

  9. wicket

WICKET Robson c Ackermann b Finan 1published at 11:20 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Leicestershire 294 v Middlesex 297 & 13-1

The first wicket down in Middlesex's second innings.

Michael Finan puts the ball in the right spot and it catches the edge of Sam Robson's bat, but this owes most to a brilliant take at Colin Ackermann at second slip. That was travelling.

A sixth wicket of the match for Finan, after his 5-58 first time around.

Shot! Henry Brookes waits for a leg side ball from Ajeet Singh-Dale and lofts the ball over square leg for four runs.

He takes a single off the fifth ball and Davies sees out the over.

Zafar Gohar replaces Tom Price in the attack.

Price has taken 6-23 off 11 probing overs.

  11. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 109-3

Dan Worrall takes a breather as Surrey give Jordan Clark his first bowl of the morning. And he has a new old ball too as the umpires agree a change. It's a maiden to Adam Lyth, who remains 44 not out.

The left-hander surely is the key if Yorkshire - who are 45 behind - are to having any chance of setting Surrey a meaningful target.

    Worcs 390 v Notts 128 & 173-8 - trail by 89

Hutton picks up a couple of fours driven through cover off Josh Tongue - and Jake Ball stays in the crease, leans back and carves Ben Gibbon through cover point for four more at the other end.

Four more driven down the ground.

An entertaining stand but how long will it last?

  13. Postpublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 128-6 v Kent 165 & 269

The first bowling change of the morning at the Ageas Bowl sees Conor McKerr replace Matt Quinn.

Will the bowler with six Championship wickets for Surrey this summer put another nail in Hampshire's chances?

He begins with a maiden and has given up just nine runs from eight overs in this second innings.

  14. Postpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Somerset 389 v Northants 218-7

That's too short by Kasey Aldridge and Tom Taylor cuts it away for four as he advances to 42 not out, Northants now 171 behind.

  15. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 v Warwks 274 & 69-7 - lead by 88

Gloucestershire will go down a division if Kent or Somerset win today - but this has been an encouraging day for the hosts on what may well be their final match day at Bristol this season.

Warwickshire have added 11 runs this morning in a tough 40 minutes.

    The pressure is on.

Ajeet-Singh Dale will bowl his first over of the day.

  16. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 128-6 v Kent 165 & 269

Nathan Gilchrist is proving a real handful this morning for the Hampshire batters.

This time, he gets one to jag back and bounce past Aneurin Donald's bat. Close!

If Hampshire were chasing 178, this would feel tricky, let alone 378.

  17. 50 runs

for Anuj Dalpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbyshire 157-5

It's been a very good season with the bat for Anuj Dal and his latest half-century arrives from 113 balls faced with a late cut for four off James Harris. He has now scored over 850 runs this season.

    Worcs 390 v Notts 128 & 155-8 - trail by 107

A rare giveaway from the Pears this morning as Pennington oversteps and the no ball carries Notts to 150.

Hutton gets a thick outside edge driving the same bowler and the ball whistles through cover for four.

  19. Postpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

That wicket gives Tom Price innings figures of 6-22 and match figures of 8-68.

    Career best.

    Warwickshire are on the brink.

  20. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 107-3

Half an hour gone at the Oval and just the one wicket for Surrey so far - Tom Kohler-Cadmore bowled by Cameron Steel for 11.

The latest over costs Kemar Roach three runs as Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth moves on to 43 not out.
