Fittingly, it is captain Rory Burns who seals the title as he pulls Jonny Tattersall away for four to complete a 10-wicket victory.

It took them just six overs to score the runs they needed following Hampshire's defeat by Kent at the Ageas Bowl.

It is Surrey's 21st outright title and first since 2018 - they also shared it with Lancashire in 1920.

Burns finishes with 30 not out, with Ryan Patel on 19.

It would be fitting if Rory Burns could hit the winning runs for Surrey. He was captain when they last won the title in 2018 and he is captain now.

He was there for every game in 2018 and he has played every game this season, too.
