    Hampshire 57 & 260-9 v Kent 165 & 269

    A ninth Hampshire wicket falls.

Jack Leaning gets one to turn and more importantly, bounce sharply out of the rough. It surprises Kyle Abbott and he can only edge the lifter to Harry Finch at slip.

Last man Mohammad Abbas has now joined James Fuller at the crease.

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 198-7

Kemar Roach is certain he has Dom Bess lbw, the umpire doesn't agree.

Bess employs the old batter's trick of rubbing his thigh above the pad to suggest it was too high.

  3. wicket

WICKET Hammond c Yates b Yadav 0published at 13:50 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 & 27-3 v Warwks 274 & 128 - target 148

Miles Hammond is gone for a three-ball duck as he defends with a slightly crooked bat and edges to second slipper Yates, who dives across first slip and holds on.

Can James Bracey weather the storm?

    Gloucs 255 & 27-2 v Warwks 274 & 128 - target 148

Danny Briggs is indeed into the attack and tosses the ball right up to Dent. He's struck on the pad and half a shout for LBW is turned down.

    Maiden over.

Spin from both ends now as Jayant Yadav changes ends and comes in from the Ashley Down.

  5. Postpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 253-8 v Kent 165 & 269

There is spin at both ends now for Kent as Tawanda Muyeye links up with Jack Leaning as they await the new ball.

Kent are also behind the over rate and are wary of a points deduction so they are trying to rush through some overs to reduce that threat.

    Somerset 389 & 27-0 v Northants 265

Back to back maidens at Taunton and the Somerset lead remains on 151. What sort of score are they looking at before contemplating a declaration?

  7. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 233-7

Anuj Dal moves on to 88 with a delightful back foot drive into the covers off Timm van der Gugten.

He's currently averaging a shade over 80 in the Championship and is holding this innings together.

  8. Postpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 196-7

Ben Mike plays into the gap wide of mid-on and picks up three runs.

There are four singles as well in the latest Dan Worrall over, extending the Yorkshire lead to 42.

  9. wicket

    WICKET O Price c Yates b Hannon-Dalby 5published at 13:43 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 & 27-2 v Warwks 274 & 128 - target 148

Danny Briggs and Henry Brookes are both stretching on the outfield - so perhaps one or both of them will be brought into the attack soon.

Hannon-Dalby is getting the ball to move off the seam and Ollie Price is well forward to defend.

Out! Ollie Price drives loosely off the back foot edges the fifth to first slip at chest height.

Warwickshire have two early wickets. Miles Hammond is in next.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 188-7

Quite a way to get off the mark. Ben Mike hammers Dan Worrall over backward square leg for six to end a wicket-taking over by the Australian. It just had enough elevation to clear the fielder stationed for the shot and Yorkshire lead by 34.

  11. Gloucs under pressure at Bristolpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Gloucs 255 & 27-1 v Warwks 274 & 128 - target 148

Yadav has a slip, leg slip and forward short leg in position as he bowls to Ollie Price.

He sweeps the last ball of the over to square leg for one.

  12. Abbott can bat, Abbas cannotpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 237-8 v Kent 165 & 269

Kyle Abbott gets off the mark with a single. He struck 57 not out in his team's last match with Northants.

Last man Mohammad Abbas has no such credentials. The Pakistan bowler has only managed to score 12 runs in 13 innings this summer.

Hampshire somehow need to score another 141 runs.

    Gloucs 255 & 24-1 v Warwks 274 & 128 - target 148

Gloucestershire are trying to weather an early storm this afternoon after the early loss of Charlesworth.

Ollie Price whips a leg-side ball from Hannon Dalby through the on side for three.

Hannon-Dalby gets the ball to jag back sharply and Dent did well to keep that out.

A drive and a miss outside off and the nerves are truly jangling.

The fifth ball of the over is beautifully driven through extra cover for four.

  14. wicket

    WICKET Vince c Bell-Drummond b Leaning 73published at 13:34 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 236-8 v Kent 165 & 269

Is that the game? And with it, the title?

Jack Leaning drops shorts and James Vince rocks back but he does not get all of it and he is caught on the deep midwicket fence by Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Vince goes for a fine 73, but Hampshire needed him to get many more.

  15. wicket

WICKET Thompson lbw Worrall 8published at 13:32 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 182-7

A change of helmet for Jordan Thompson but he is gone as Dan Worrall traps him on the back foot from round the wicket and the umpire sends him on his way.

Ben Mike is the new batter for Yorkshire.

  16. Postpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Somerset 389 & 24-0 v Northants 265

Glorious stroke by Imam ul-Haq, who drives Jack White away to the extra cover boundary. Right out of the textbook that one - an old textbook, not the latest one with ramps and scoops etc.

Imam is 14 not out and Tom Lammonby has eight.

  17. wicket

WICKET Thomson lbw b Patelpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 221-7

Thomson is out for a three-ball duck as he misses with a defensive prod and is stuck on the crease in front of all three.

    Ben Aitchison is in next.

    Leicestershire 294 v Middlesex 297 & 138-3

He picks up a single off Callum Parkinson to reach his half century off 74 balls.

  19. Runs flowing since lunchpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 232-7 v Kent 165 & 269

In the four overs since the resumption, Hampshire have racked up 23 runs with James Vince moving up to 72 not out.

There are ten overs to go until the second new ball. Hants may see this as a good time to put another 30 to 40 runs onto their total.

  20. wicket

WICKET Came c Patel b Van der Gugten 64published at 13:27 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 220-6

    Breakthrough!

Harry Came is caught on the crease by a shorter, quicket delivery from Van der Gugten nd the ball flies off the shoulder of the bat to Ajaz Patel at slip.

He's resisted for more than 60 overs and is clearly distraught as he leaves the field. Alex Thomson to bat next.
