    Gloucs 255 & 57-4 v Warwks 274 & 128 - target 148

Briggs is bowling a tight line to Dent until his fourth ball, which is a long hop, swept away for four past Hanon-Dalby on the square leg boundary.

That's the Gloucester 50. A full toss is driven for two. Easy runs.

More runs for Gloucester at the other end as Hannon-Dalby drops short and is pulled away for four by Graeme van Buuren.

  2. Surrey begin stroll to titlepublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 & 4-0 v Yorkshire 179 & 208

So it all comes down to this.

Surrey need to score 55 - and barring a collapse like Essex's against Lancashire on day two, the title will be theirs.

Ben Coad will open the bowling to Rory Burns, who edges his first ball for four. Just 51 more now.

  3. Huge win for Kentpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 300 all out v Kent 165 & 269

Hampshire did well to reach 300 in the fourth innings, but being bowled out for 57 in the first innings left them too far behind.

A huge win for Kent, though, in their quest to avoid relegation.

From 32-5 on the first morning, not too many people would have had this one as a comprehensive Spitfires victory.

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 240-9

Conners is well forward to drive...the ball spins past the outside edge.

Keeper Chris Cooke takes the ball neatly and smashes the timbers.

Adam Sylvester's turn to bat. Ajaz Patel has 4-66.

Maiden over from Danny Briggs at the other end.

Who is going to win this one?

  7. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 292-9 v Kent 165 & 269

James Fuller strokes consecutive fours off Matt Quinn and then guides a short ball off the final delivery down to the boundary, too.

Not much intent from the Kent fielders to stop that one. They want to bowl at Mohammad Abbas.

Fuller moves to 78 not out. This is his highest Championship score of the season by some distance, bettering his previous best of 55.

  8. wicket

WICKET Patterson b Worrall 1published at 14:10 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorkshire 179 & 208

Barring an unlikely turn of events at the Ageas Bowl, Surrey need to score 55 to win the Championship title after Dan Worrall bowls Yorkshire number 11 Steve Patterson.

Worrall finishes with 4-61 and Yorkshire's last three wickets went down for four runs in the space of three overs.

That ball was definitely reversing after lunch and that takes a lot of skill from Kemar Roach and Dan Worrall."

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 208-9

You sense this last wicket won't be long coming with Kemar Roach finding prodigious swing.

A huge appeal for lbw against Steve Patterson, but the former Yorkshire skipper survives. Their lead is just 54.

  10. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 239-8

Glamorgan are on the brink of a huge first innings lead with only Alex Sylvester on debut to come.

Still plenty of time to force a result here.

Aitchison defends Ajaz Patel carefully out into the off side with fielders crowded around the bat.

  11. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Somerset 389 & 39-0 v Northants 265

Somerset still being pinned down by tight Northants bowling as they were for part of the first innings, but they won't worry about that providing they don't lose wickets in a rush. Imam ul-Haq is 20 not out and Tom Lammonby has 15.

    Hampshire 57 & 280-9 v Kent 165 & 269

  14. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 270-9 v Kent 165 & 269

Kent hurl the old ball off the field and Matt Quinn now has the new red cherry in his hand.

They need one wicket. Hampshire need 108 runs.

Strangely, Kent only have one slip to James Fuller and all other fielders out on the boundary.

  15. wicket

Yorkshire are only 52 ahead as number 11 Steve Patterson comes out to bat. Worrall now has 3-60.

for James Fullerpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Hampshire 57 & 264-9 v Kent 165 & 269

A long hop from Tawanda Muyeye and James Fuller helps himself to four.

He has batted well and is far too good to bat at number nine, but he knows this cause is almost a lost one.

  19. wicket

WICKET Bess c Foakes b Roach 43published at 13:56 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Surrey 333 v Yorks 179 & 204-8

    Kemar RoachImage source, Rex Features

Dom Bess does well to avoid a rapid bouncer from Kemar Roach which soars past his nose.

But he's gone next ball as he gloves down the leg-side and Ben Foakes takes the catch diving to his left.

Bess is the second Yorkshire batter to fall in that fashion, following skipper Jonny Tattersall, and their lead is 50.

Will the title be Surrey's later this afternoon? It's looking that way at the moment.

  20. wicket

WICKET Dal lbw b Van der Gugten 92published at 13:56 British Summer Time 22 September 2022

    Glamorgan 550-5 dec v Derbys 237-8

Anuj Dal is into the 90s with a two and a single off Ajaz Patel.

But he's out now, hit on the knee roll and pinned lbw in front of off stump by Timm van der Gugten!

A fine innings is over and Glamorgan have exposed the tail.

Sam Conners is the new batter.
