  1. wicket

    WICKET Thompson c O Price b Gohar 9published at 12:06 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 160-8 v Gloucestershire 190

Zafar Gohar is having a magic morning at Headingley as he rips through Yorkshire.

He tosses it up, Jordan Thompson is tempted to drive and Ollie Price takes another smart catch at slip.

4-17 this morning for the slow left-armer.

  2. Cracking Crawleypublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Kent 90-0 v Somerset 202

Three successive balls from left-armer Tom Lammonby to Zak Crawley, all with a bit of width and Crawley can get on the back foot and sends them all to the rope with a touch of disdain.

Crawley looks in the mood here and Kent are flying.

  3. 'Notts going along nicely'published at 11:59 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Notts 353-3 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Notts continue to progress at a decent rate here and as things stand it looks like this will end in a declaration some time today.

On a track which looks great for batting I am struggling to see how Durham will bowl them out, something which has been an issue in so many of their games this season. Hence eight draws in 13 games.

Matthew Montgomery resumed on 101 this morning and now has 149. Lyndon James has 27 and they have added 76 runs so far.

There are four overs left for bonus points.

  4. Bad light stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 157-2 v Hampshire

More bad news for Warwickshire. Another delay, this time for bad light.

After 19 runs and 11 overs, they are off again.

  5. Postpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 157-2 v Hampshire.

A bit uppish and out of control from Rob Yates as the ball heads through the gully region off Keith Barker but it gets him four runs and takes him to 90.

  6. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Hovepublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex v Glam 285-5

Not what Glamorgan need after only half a day’s play yesterday.

But the delay was only short-lived and they’re back out.

  7. wicket

WICKET Bess c Bracey b Singh Dale 4published at 11:43 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 146-7 v Gloucestershire 190

Yorkshire are definitely in bother now!

Dom Bess had only just got off the mark with a boundary before he is strangled down legside by Ajeet Singh Dale.

Hopes of a big first innings lead for Yorkshire are rapidly disappearing.

  8. wicket

WICKET Robson b Pennington 0published at 11:41 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 0-1

Middlesex struck with the first ball of the match and Worcestershire also take a wicket in the opening over.

Sam Robson drags a back-of-a-length ball outside off into his stumps.

No idea why he was bothering to play at it.

    Middlesex under early pressure.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Tattersall c O Price b Gohar 33published at 11:40 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 142-6 v Gloucestershire 190

Zafar Gohar removes the Yorkshire captain.

Jonny Tattersall looks troubled by Gohar's spin and as he goes back to one, the ball takes the edge and it's snaffled by Ollie Price low down at slip.

Yorkshire are sliding into a spot of bother here.

  10. 'Sussex keep a foothold'published at 11:38 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex v Glamorgan 283-5

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Sussex kept a foothold in their Championship match against Glamorgan by getting rid of both well-set batters in the first hour.

The key wicket was that of India’s Shubman Gill, who looked a little nervy on 99 before reaching his first century in county cricket.

Gill then took three fours off the first over bowled by off-spinner Jack Carson, one just over mid-off, before holing out to Sean Hunt at long-on for 119 in Carson’s next over.

Earlier Billy Root was bowled by Hunt for 21, having his leg-stump knocked out by a yorker.

Chris Cooke started adventurously, and Glamorgan will have no run-rate problems getting to 400 if they can keep wickets in hand, but will hope Middlesex’s batters falter at Worcester in the promotion race.

  11. 50 up for Kentpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Kent 50-0 v Somerset 202

A slightly uppish drive from Tawanda Muyeye off Craig Overton but it brings him four and that is the half century opening stand for him and Zak Crawley inside 11 overs.

  12. wicket

WORCESTERSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 225 (Gibbon c Simpson b Roland-Jones 2) v Middx

Toby Roland-Jones with the final wicket, finishing with 4-50, and Worcestershire are all done for 225.

Not a massive score but on a pitch that’s done a bit it could be a handy number to work with.

From 119-6 that’s a very good rally from the lower order and Middlesex will be annoyed they couldn’t get their hosts for less.

Josh Tongue’s 39 not out from No. 9 is the second-top score.

Still, not too many to respond to and first job done for the visitors.

  13. Crawley starting to tickpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Kent 44-0 v Somerset 202

Two glorious shots in the same over from Zak Crawley, one cover drive and then a super flick through midwicket.

He is up to 19 as this partnership ticks along nicely.

  14. Bears struggling to get movingpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 139-2 v Hampshire

Just one leg bye off the first three overs this morning for Warwickshire.

It cannot be easy for the home side with these delays and seeing the games moving on quickly involving Yorkshire and Kent.

  15. wicket

WICKET Gill c Hunt b Carson 119published at 11:23 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex v Glam 277-5

Potentially a big blow to Glamorgan’s chances of a match-dominating total - and maximum batting points.

Fine innings from Shubman Gill but he’s tried to launch Jack Carson’s off spin down the ground and been held at long-on.

  16. wicket

WICKET Hartley b Moriarty 16published at 11:23 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Lancashire 467-7 v Surrey

Dan Moriarty had Tom Hartley dropped the ball before but breaches the defences next ball to clip off stump.

An excellent delivery from the Surrey left-arm spinner.

  17. wicket

WICKET Duke lbw b Gohar 4published at 11:18 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 135-5 v Gloucestershire 190

Zafar Gohar has his second wicket of the morning!

This time, he strikes Harry Duke in front and wins the decision. Not sure whether it might have been sliding past leg stump but it doesn't matter, Duke has to go.

The game remains in the balance.

  18. wicket

WICKET Pennington lbw b Higgins 13published at 11:16 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 212-9 v Middx

It’s been a frustrating 45 minutes for Middlesex but they have the breakthrough - and a third bowling point.

Ryan Higgins with his third wicket as Dillon Pennington is trapped lbw, ending his 32 balls of resistance that helped Josh Tongue move his side a little further along.

Higgins swung one in markedly and Pennington was caught in the crease.

  19. Under way in Birminghampublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 138-2 v Hampshire

Here we go 45 minutes later than hoped for due to the rain, but the players are out at Edgbaston.

Sam Hain to face Keith Barker.

They were also hoping to start between Northants and Essex, but the rain has returned and the covers are back on.

  20. 300 runs

up for Nottspublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Notts 300-3 v Durham

A third point banked for Notts at Trent Bridge and they’re moving closer to confirming promotion.

14 more overs to go in bonus point period so a fourth point is achievable.

But the bigger picture is taking defeat out of the equation - a draw with a good haul of bonus points should be enough for the title.

Matt Montgomery could take them there - he’s 122 not out.
