    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 165-7 v Hampshire 311

Danny Briggs, first ball, and he sends it down over a vacant area at third for six!

Should he have been batting instead of Hain?

  3. wicket

WICKET Benjamin c Montgomery b Broad 33published at 12:07 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Notts v Durham 84-6 (Target 577)

Chris Benjamin held up Notts with five boundaries in a 42-ball knock but he’s now gone.

He pushes at one from Stuart Broad outside off that bounced a fraction and edges low to second slip where a smart catch is claimed.

Notts could yet have this done before lunch with only three more wickets needed.

  4. wicket

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 158-7 v Hampshire 311

He can only block one from James Fuller, but his runner Alex Davies sets off and is beaten by a sharp piece of work from Hampshire captain James Vince.

    The lead stands at 119.

  5. Postpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 158-6 v Hampshire 311

That is a super improvised shot from Sam Hain.

He comes outside off-stump and using all his wristy power, manages to get four down to deep backward square.

He is now on an uncomfortable nine off 13 balls.

  6. 'Hogan given a guard of honour'published at 11:58 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Sussex 258 & 378-4 v Glamorgan 5339-9 dec

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan forced another Sussex slump after an unlucky run-out saw Ali Orr depart two runs short of a maiden double century.

Orr had already helped himself to his tenth six when partner Tom Haines’ straight drive was deflected onto the stumps by Ajaz Patel to break an opening stand of 328, the fourth best in Sussex history.

Patel then had Tom Alsop well caught for 3 at backward point by Andrew Salter, with Tom Clark falling for the same score to the same combination in reverse, as Patel held a running catch at mid-off.

Salter struck again when Finn Hudson-Prentice was caught behind for 10, but skipper Haines opened up to pass 150 with his 19th four with Sussex needing some acceleration to reach safety after their run-rate dipped sharply.

Earlier seamer Michael Hogan, 41, was given a guard of honour by both teams and staff as he came into the field for his final day in Glamorgan colours.

  7. Postpublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 149-6 v Hampshire 311

Sam Hain appears to be in trouble every time he faces a ball.

He has scored three off four but he doesn't appear capable of hitting any big shots.

  8. 150 runs

for Tom Hainespublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Sussex 258 & 373-4 v Glam 533-9d

It’s been a wonderful match with the bat for the Sussex captain.

He’s now 260 not out across two innings as another milestone is brought up.

Once again keeping Glamorgan at bay as they lead stretches towards three figures.

  9. Hain in painpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 143-6 v Hampshire 311

Sam Hain plays one away from his first ball, but he looks in great pain as he steps away.

Hain hobbles off to his position with the batters having crossed, but this really is a brave call of duty from Warwickshire's gun player.

  10. wicket

WICKET Bethell c Weatherley b Fuller 2published at 11:45 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 142-6 v Hampshire 311

These wickets really are hampering Warwickshire's efforts to set a declaration target.

Jacob Bethell goes for a big heave, but gets it all wrong and it's a simple catch for Joe Weatherley at point.

An uncomfortable two off seven balls, but here comes Sam Hain along with Alex Davies as a runner.

  11. wicket

ESSEX ALL OUTpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Northants 163 v Essex 263 & 110 all out

Last man Sam Cook grabs a useful 17 before he falls, caught at deep square leg.

Essex have added 46 this morning and Northants will now require 211 runs to win.

This is not going to end in a draw!

  12. Lead into three figurespublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 141-5 v Hampshire 311

Jacob Bethell has joined Dom Sibley at the crease.

But they can only manage three singles from a tight Brad Wheal over.

It's worth mentioning that we have only had 14 overs in around 70 minutes of cricket, so Hampshire not helping too much there.

The lead is now up to 102 runs.

  13. wicket

    WICKET Hudson-Prentice c Cooke b Salter 10published at 11:39 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Sussex 258 & 358-4 v Glamorgan 533-9d

Fourth wicket of the morning for Glamorgan.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice plays Andrew Salter with an angled bat hoping for turn but it slides on and takes an edge behind.

  14. wicket

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 136-5 v Hampshire 311

No surprise in Dan Mousley's intention.

He tries to fetch a ball from outside off through the legside and only manages to drag it onto his stumps.

  15. Hampshire determined to finish secondpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 135-4 v Hampshire 311

Hampshire captain James Vince has dispatched his fielders all over in a defensive formation.

They do have something at stake today as a win or a draw will guarantee they finish second above Lancashire.

That will mean an extra £145,000 in prize money.

And it would deny Lancashire 'the bridesmaid's treble' of being runners-up in each of the County Championship, the T20 Blast and the One-Day Cup.

  16. Postpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 125-4 v Hampshire 311

A fine shot from Dom Sibley gets him four off James Fuller. It turns out to be a no-ball so it's worth six.

Ten off the over as Warwickshire look to rebuild following Will Rhodes' departure.

    The lead is currently 86.

  17. wicket

WICKETSpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Notts v Durham 40-5 (Target 577)

Notts have taken two more in five balls and Durham are going down quickly at Trent Bridge.

First Liam Trevaskis goes to sweep Liam Patterson-White, initially misses and gets struck on the pad but the ball then flicks the back of the bat before looping up to slip!

Then Dane Paterson strikes Nic Maddinson on the pad from round the wicket to win an lbw.

The replay isn’t a great angle but it might have been high.

  18. wicket

WICKET Critchley c Gay b White 20published at 11:20 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Northants 163 v Essex 263 & 89-9

Career-best bowling from Jack White. He now has 6-27.

He puts the ball in the right place, gets some extra bounce to surprise Matt Critchley and Emilio Gay hangs on at second slip.

  19. wicket

WICKET Rhodes c Abbas b Wheal 13published at 11:19 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec & 113-4 v Hampshire 311

Mohammad Abbas is not known for his fielding, but he has pulled off a blinder of a catch!

Will Rhodes thinks he has got another six with a cut off Brad Wheal, but he is prevented from doing so by a great grab down at third from Abbas.

  20. wicket

WICKET Clark c Patel b Salter 3published at 11:19 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Sussex 258 & 343-3 v Middx 533-9d

A third wicket for Glamorgan who will still have high ambitions to finish the year with victory.

    Sussex lead by only 67.
