    Warwickshire v Hampshire 79-5 (Target 139)

Edgbaston has hosted a thrilling Test between England and India, a T20 international, T20 Blast Finals Day, the Commonwealth Games Women's T20 and home games for the Birmingham Bears, Central Sparks and Birmingham Phoenix in the men's and women's Hundred.

What a busy season at the ground - and the home team's county Championship comes down to the final session on 29 September.

  2. The deciding sessionpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire v Hampshire 78-5 (Target 139)

Ollie Hannon-Dalby has had 20 minutes with his feet up. Now he has the ball for one last burst.

  3. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Northants 157-8 (Target 211) v Essex

Northants are still just about in at tea thanks to Gareth Berg's 38 not out.

But those four wickets for Simon Harmer and three for Sam Cook in that session have Essex heavy favourites to complete the job.

  4. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Sussex 258 & 485-7 v Glam 533-9d

The final interval of the season arrives at Hove.

Sussex appear to be doing enough to save the game, they lead by 210 and time is now very much against Glamorgan.

Dan Ibrahim has 52 not out and Jack Carson has eaten up 58 balls from the other end.

Not that it matters for Glam but they would still surely love a chance to thrash their way to victory in the final hour?

  5. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire v Hampshire 78-5 (Target 139)

Ollie Hannon-Dalby sends down a maiden and Liam Norwell to bowl the last one before tea.

Aneurin Donald squirts one away for a couple to get off the mark. That had Norwell interested as he moved across his stumps.

Close! Donald's uppish drive is just too fast for Norwell to grab and he gets two more runs.

Another couple of shots from Donald that keep the fielders interested before he ends the session with a single out through the covers.

And that is tea. Time for a much needed cuppa!

Hampshire will need 61 for victory in the final session, Warwickshire require five wickets.

Where there's Liam Norwell, there's hope for Warwickshire!

A fourth wicket of the innings for Norwell as he tries to bowl his team to safety.

No doubts about this one as Ben Brown shuffles across his crease and is struck plumb in front.

    Warwickshire v Hampshire 73-4 (Target 139)

Ollie Hannon-Dalby will be a tired man this evening.

He's steamed through 11 overs this afternoon and his work is not yet done. He's looking for an LBW against Nick Gubbins but with no luck.

Ten minutes until tea when OHD may need a rub down from the physio to keep him going.

WICKET Taylor c Browne b Harmer 26published at 14:57 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Northants 140-8 (Target 211) v Essex

A good spinner doesn't worry about batters going on the attack.

And on the county circuit, there are few equals of Simon Harmer.

Tom Taylor comes down the wicket to try and smother the spin but it is a regulation catch for Nick Browne at short leg.

Harmer has 4-44. Will he finish the summer with a five-for?

    Sussex 258 & 483-7 v Glam 533-9d

Glamorgan now have 18-year-old Dan Ibrahim in their way.

He’s struck five fours and a six and has taken the lead over 200 with a 128-ball fifty.

There is still time for Glamorgan to have a dash for the cash but they will need these final wickets promptly.

It’s now a time thing because the spinners have rattled through the overs so quickly.

Tea at 3.10pm and close at 5.30pm.

    Sussex lead by 208.

Liam Norwell returns to the attack. Is this a last throw of the dice for Warwickshire?

A terrific shot to the mid-wicket boundary for Nick Gubbins. The left-hander has played a couple of really nice onside strokes now.

The target is down to 67.

    Warwickshire v Hampshire 63-4 (Target 139)

You get thrilling chases in both T20 and 50-over cricket.

But there is something about a run chase in a four or five-day match that cannot be bettered.

The tension is heightened, and even more so when an entire season is on the line.

One run taken from Ollie Hannon-Dalby's ninth over of the innings.

  16. Will Hants' batting be brittle again?published at 14:33 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire v Hampshire 61-4 (Target 139)

Hampshire have had a very good Championship season, but their undoubted strength has been with the ball.

And having been skittled for 57 by Kent last week, that must give Warwickshire some hope.

With wicketkeeper Alex Davies standing up to the stumps, Ben Brown and Nick Gubbins take three singles of the latest Ollie Hannon-Dalby over.

    Northants 91-7 (Target 211) v Essex

Another batter bamboozled by Simon Harmer.

Saif Zaib can't decide whether the ball is going to turn or not, but does not bother with a shot and watches the ball hit off stump.

3-15 now for Harmer as he spins Essex to victory.

  20. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 29 September 2022

    Warwickshire v Hampshire 56-4 (Target 139)

An eighth over from Liam Norwell.

A herculean effort given that he has bowled fewer than 100 all summer before this innings.

He bowls a maiden and he has figures of 3-16.
