    Kent 278-4 v Lancs

    Sam Billings
Kent captain on BBC Radio Kent

There's so much Kent support here today.

We are really are spoilt. They're the best fans in the country.

And they are making a lot of noise.

  2. Over 45published at 14:10 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 275-4 v Lancs

Now it's Liam Hurt's turn to let the ball slip out of his hand - the attempted yorker ends up being almost head height and Alex Blake can only fend it up in the air for George Lavelle to catch. But a no-ball is signalled as Hurt offers his apologies.

The bowler might have picked up Blake's wicket from a legal full toss later in the over, but Luke Wells is unable to gather a steepling catch on the boundary and the ball rolls over the rope.

Hurt probably deserves better than the figures he's finished with - 2-64.

  3. Stevens and Blake raising the roofpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 268-4 v Lancs

    Matt Cole
BBC Radio Kent at Trent Bridge

Everything Darren Stevens has done so far has been cheered to the rafters by the 10,000 plus crowd here at Trent Bridge. But Alex Blake is going very nicely, Outrageous cricket.

  4. Over 44published at 14:04 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 264-4 v Lancs

Tom Bailey is back for his eighth over and restricts the Spitfires to singles until his fifth delivery, a full toss that Alex Blake punches for a straight six despite one hand coming off the bat.

Blake has quickly advanced to 28 from 23 balls. Six overs left.

  5. Over 43published at 13:59 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 253-4 v Lancs

Another good over from Liam Hurt, who mixes things up with a couple of yorkers thrown in for good measure.

Although Hurt's first ball is glanced to the long leg boundary by Darren Stevens, the over still costs him only six in total.

  6. Over 42published at 13:55 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 247-4 v Lancs

A round of cheers from the crowd greets a routine single on the leg side. The identity of the scorer is the reason behind that - 46-year-old Darren Stevens is off the mark.

Despite that, it's a good over for Will Williams, with just two conceded.

  7. 'What a reception for Darren Stevens'published at 13:54 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 246-4 v Lancs

    Ben Watts
BBC Radio Kent at Trent Bridge

We didn't have to wonder who the next man in was.

Just listen to the crowd at Trent Bridge. Wow!

Is this Darren Stevens' last apperance for Kent? And will it be a special one?

    WICKET - Denly b Hurt 78published at 13:50 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 245-4 v Lancs

Joe Denly has just squirted Liam Hurt through midwicket for four - but he misjudges the last ball of the over and it knocks back his off stump.

    Enter Darren Stevens...

  9. Over 40published at 13:45 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 236-3 v Lancs

Smart piece of fielding by Luke Wells, who's given way to Will Williams and gone to field at mid-on.

Wells is at full stretch to cut off what looked a certain four for Joe Denly - and gives the Kent captain a nervy few moments with his shy at the stumps, not too far away as Denly scuttles through for a single.

Eight from the over - how many can Kent add from these final 10?

  10. Over 39published at 13:41 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 228-3 v Lancs

Lancashire sense the dismissal of Joey Evison has stunted the Kent momentum, with Danny Lamb delivering what looked to be another solid over.

Until the last ball that is, which Alex Blake absolutely creams through the covers for four.

  11. Over 38published at 13:37 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 219-3 v Lancs

Joe Denly thrashes the first ball of this Luke Wells over to the cover boundary, but Kent pick up just another three singles. One of those gets Alex Blake off the mark, anyway.

  12. Over 37published at 13:34 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 212-3 v Lancs

Much-needed wicket for Lancashire and a good over from Danny Lamb, with just four conceded.

Alex Blake is the new man at the crease to join Joe Denly.

No century for Joey Evison, who had just survived a review for caught behind against Danny Lamb - but then departs next ball.

It's a clever slower delivery from Lamb to pierce Evison's defences - and that ends the third-wicket stand of 133.

  14. Over 36published at 13:26 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 208-2 v Lancs

Luke Wells is back on for a second spell and Joe Denly is delighted to see him, charging down the track to dispatch him over the top for six.

Denly sweeps the next one and skies it, but he's fortunate as the ball lands between two Lancashire fielders. Kent are now past the 200 mark.

  15. Over 35published at 13:22 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 197-2 v Lancs

Danny Lamb comes back on but the Kent runs are flowing.

    10 off that over too.

Joey Evison is now into the 90s - and Joe Denly is batting beautifully too.

But we are fast running out of Stevo time here!

  16. 50 runs

Over 34 - Half century for Joe Denlypublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 187-2 v Lancs

Liam Hurt remains on. A better over. Only 5 off it.

But he cannot prevent Kent captain Joe Denly golng to his 50 - off 50 balls.

  17. 6 runs

Over 33 - first six of the inningspublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 182-2 v Lancs

Joey Evison plunders Steven Croft through extra cover for his 13th four, then lofts him over mid off for the first six of the innings.

    13 off that over too.

28 now off the last two.

The scoring rate has been upped - and Evison and Joe Denly have posted a century stand.

  18. Over 32published at 13:09 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 166-2 v Lancs

Successive boundaries off Liam Hurt for Joey Evison takes him to 72 as Kent accelerate, followed by a third in the over through extra cover from Joe Denly.

    15 off the over. Ouch!

Hurt had only shipped 19 in his first five overs.

  19. 150 runs

Over 31published at 13:05 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 151-2 v Lancs

More spin. The also ageless Steven Croft, nine years' Darren Stevens' junior, at only 37.

    Six runs off it.

Joey Evison on 64. Joe Denly on 41.

73 added by them now. Solid without being spectacular.

  20. Over 30published at 13:00 British Summer Time 17 September 2022

    Kent 145-2 v Lancs

Joey Evison 'goes aerial' to deep mid off, for a single off Luke Wells. But then Joe Denly goes legside, muscling a one-bounce four.

    Six off it.

Going on the '30 overs, double your score' principle, then are Kent looking at 290?

With Darren Stevens still to come, that might be a conservative estimate!
