Congratulations to Kent Spitfires, who finally put their run of eight straight List A cup final defeats to bed with their first triumph since the 1978 Benson & Hedges Cup.

They've beaten Lancashire by 21 runs in a gripping final at Trent Bridge - and don't forget there's still more drama to come on the domestic front as the County Championship builds to its climax.

Kent have been immacuiate in the field and have deserved to win the One-Day Cup to add to last year's T20, with almost an entirely different team.

They stuck with the side that had got them here, rather than bring back their players from The Hundred.

And they Kent kids (and Darren Stevens) have won six games on the trot to do it - to bring them their first one-day final win since 1978.

What an incredible day for 20-year-old Joey Evison!

The all-rounder was back at Trent Bridge, the ground where he began his career and top-scored with 97 before taking 2-34 from 6.4 overs and an impressive catch in the deep.

Fittingly, it was Evison who finished off Lancashire with the final wicket, bowling Liam Hurt for 12 in the penultimate over.

Liam Hurt is doing his best to keep Lancashire's hopes alive as he heaves Grant Stewart to the leg-side boundary and then picks up two more runs with a drive to long-off.

10 runs from the over, so Lancashire need 27 from 12 balls.

Nathan Gilchrist finishes with 3-65 and Kent are almost there.

Lancashire need 37 from the final three overs, with just one wicket standing.

It looked as though Joey Evison's day was going to get even better as he raced back from mid-off to take an outstanding one-handed catch.

But the umpires took a look at the replay and it became clear that Evison had grounded the ball as he brought it down in his right hand.

It means Liam Hurt survives, but Lancashire still have an uphill task with 44 needed from the last four overs.

A couple of close calls with run-out opportunities as Tom Bailey and Liam Hurt scamper desperate singles off Nathan Gilchrist.

But singles are not going to turn this around for Lancashire now. They need 49 from 30 balls.

Kent have done ti again. The ball sticks between the mitts of Nathan Gilchrist who is mobbed hy his team-mates - and it's now within Kent's grasp.

All thanks to some superb catching.

The best fielding team in the country are back.

If it moves, throw the kitchen sink at it. That seems to be Danny Lamb's approach - and it's paying off.

Lamb tries to hook Nathan Gilchrist twice and doesn't connect cleanly on either occasion, but still picks up a four and six over the wicketkeeper's head.

Seven overs left, 63 needed.

Danny Lamb certainly hasn't given this up.

He picks up a boundary with a reverse sweep off Hamidullah Qadri, but the required rate is climbing again. Lancashire need 76 from 48 balls.

Lancashire are just trying to hang in there now, acutely aware they are running out of wickets.

Slight confusion for bowler Nathan Gilchrist, who thought he'd finished his over only to be informed there was one ball remaining. It's a short one but costs him just a single.

George Lavelle is the new man at the crease for Lancashire, who need 94 from 11 overs.

That wicket has given the Spitfires renewed hope though.
