It was the final full Friday night of T20 Blast action this season and it's been another cracker with some brilliant games and big scores.

That finish at Grace Road with Leicestershire pipping Northants by a single run was the stand-out, as the Foxes fight another day and the Steelbacks are eliminated.

Thanks for your company, I hope you all enjoyed it.

  3. Big night in the Blastpublished at 22:12 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

So tonight's results have made a big difference to qualification.

In the South Group, leaders Surrey had already secured their place in next week's quarter-finals but they have been joined by Somerset, Essex and Hampshire.

In the North Group, Birmingham Bears, Lancashire Lightning (despite a shock loss to Worcestershire) and Derbyshire Falcons are now assured of a place in the last eight.

The final spot is between Leicestershire Foxes and Yorkshire Vikings, who meet on Sunday.

  4. Bears throughpublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Yorks 207 v Bears 238-5

It's been a great campaign for the Bears and this ninth victory of the competition almost certainly seals a home quarter-final.

Derbyshire are the only team that can deny them and I'm not sure the required net run-rate swing is even possible.

Bears are 1.312 ahead and both sides have one game remaining.

Yorkshire have to dust themselves down for a trip down the M1.

Their final game with Leicestershire is now a winner-takes-all contest at Grace Road on Sunday.

  6. Hampshire go marching onpublished at 22:03 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Hampshire 140-7 v Gloucestershire 125

An eighth win in nine games sends Hampshire into the last eight. Gloucestershire are eliminated.

James Fuller's brilliant 45 took them to a competitive score and they kept chipping away with wickets as they successfully defended 140.

  7. BEARS BEAT YORKSHIRE BY 31 RUNSpublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Yorks 207 v Bears 238-5

Criad Miles takes just two balls to finish it off and the Bears have closed this out.

Paul Stirling's fabulous 81 in 41 balls proves the match-winning knock and deservedly so.

  8. Yorkshire need 33 from six ballspublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

Six and out for Jordan Thompson and surely Yorkshire are fully cooked now.

Last pair Matt Revis and Dom Bess needing a miracle.

  9. ESSEX BEAT SUSSEX BY 28 RUNSpublished at 21:59 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Sussex 165-8 v Essex 197-8

Sam Cook bowls a fantastic 20th over that goes for just four runs, and also includes the wicket of Rashid Khan.

Essex were always in control after posting 197, led by Adam Rossington's 95, and they are through to the quarter-finals in comfortable fashion.

  10. HAMPSHIRE HAWKS BEAT GLOUCESTERSHIRE BY 15 RUNSpublished at 21:58 British Summer Time 1 July 2022
    Breaking

    Hampshire 140-7 v Gloucestershire 125 all out (19.4 overs)

    Nathan EllisImage source, Getty

Start the car! Hampshire are in the quarter-finals!!

With injured Mohammed Amir at the other end, David Payne has to go for big hits. He misses, Nathan Ellis hits and it's goodnight Vienna.

  11. Yorkshire need 41 from 12 ballspublished at 18 overs

    Yorks 198-8 v Bears 238-5

Jake Lintott takes two in two balls for the Bears to probably extinguish any last Yorkshire hope.

Can Jordan Thompson find some long balls?

  12. wicket

WICKET Smith run out (McDermott) 9published at 19.1 overs

    Hampshire v Gloucestershire 124-9 (Target 141)

David Payne goes for a big hit off Nathan Ellis, but misses. They try and run a single, but Ben McDermott throws the stumps down to send Tom Smith home.

  13. 17 needed from 6 ballspublished at 19 overs

    Hampshire v Gloucestershire 124-8 (Target 141)

Tom Smith and David Payne exchange singles.

Payne then tries a scoop over the wicketkeeper, desperate for a boundary, but he gets two.

Payne can only get one off the last ball. It's a tall order.

  14. wicket

WICKET Bopara c Allison b Sams 47published at 21:52 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Sussex 165-7 v Essex 197-8

    Daniel SamsImage source, Rex Features

In a desperate attempt to find quick runs, Ravi Bopara slices one straight up in the air.

Ben Allison comes in from long-off to take a good catch.

You would imagine that that will be that.

  15. wicket

WICKET Bracey c Dawson b Wood 38published at 18.2 overs

    Hampshire v Gloucestershire 121-8 (Target 141)

Tom Smith tries a big heave. Up in the air, but it lands safe and they take one.

But this could be the game for Hampshire. James Bracey is forced to go for a big shot, but he does not get good contact and it loops up for Liam Dawson to catch.

Target is now 22 off 10 balls.

  16. Postpublished at 21:49 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Sussex 164-6 v Essex 197-8

Rashid Khan cannot get Ben Allison away, the Afghanistan star heaving unsuccessfully into the leg-side.

Ravi Bopara watches on helplessly from the non-strikers end. Sussex now need 34 from the last two overs...

  17. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Hampshire v Gloucestershire 118-7 (Target 141)

Gloucestershire need 27 from 18 balls. This is going to the wire.

Dot to start from Nathan Ellis but James Bracey runs hard for two and then jogs a single.

Australia international Ellis uses his quality to deceive Tom Smith with a slower ball. And again!

Smith gets a single off the last one, but it's only four and now the target is 23 off 12.

  18. Leicestershire beat Northants by one runpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 1 July 2022

    Leics 214-6 v Northants 213-7

What an extraordinary game at Grace Road.

Northants needed 29 from 7 balls but somehow almost got there.

Agonising for the visitors who not cannot qualify.

Leicestershire can now still go through, if they beat Yorkshire on Sunday.

And if Yorkshire lose this evening.

  19. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Hampshire v Gloucestershire 114-7 (Target 141)

    Liam Dawson's final six balls.

Singles off the first two. James Bracey then hustles for two off the third ball.

A reverse out into the deep for one. Tom Smith clubs one out for another single, before they scramble one more off the final delivery.

Dawson has finished with 2-16. Excellent bowling.

  20. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Yorks 167-5 v Bears 238-5

Bears have managed to chip away.

Adam Lyth fell for 69 in 38 balls.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore made 20 in 9 and Dave Willey only 4.

It leaves Harry Brook trying to lead Yorkshire to this mammoth chase.

It's still on but 72 from 30 needed.
