The ball bounced on the roof of the Hollies and went over into the walkway behind! A disappointing way to end that over from Brad Wheal.

Tom Abell receives a painful blow in the ribs from Brad Wheal before chopping down to third man for a single.

The final delivery of the over is swung away by Rilee Rossouw over mid-wicket for a maximum - Hampshire really need to get rid of him before he can do too much damage.

The left-hander is 21 not out from 14 balls faced.

That is a fantastic piece of fielding to hit the stumps from that distance.

One down the ground for Rilee Rossouw and there's nothing for Tom Abell from the last.

Rossouw just used his feet, opened up a little and a nice strike down pipe. If Somerset can get to the powerplay just one down and score fifty plus, they'll be pretty happy with that.

    Somerset 37-2 (Target 191)

Lucky. Rilee Rossouw swings at Chris Wood's first ball and a top edge flies over the keeper for four.

Tom Banton then dabs into the off-side, Rossouw calls him for a single, but the right-hander is beaten by a direct hit from Mason Crane at the bowler's end.

    Banton didn't dive.

Rilee Rossouw plays and misses at two in a row from Brad Wheal.

The South African decided enough is enough, takes two steps down the pitch and hammers it high and handsome for six.

He runs the next down to third man for one to end the over and keep the strike.

Rilee Rossouw is under way with a single and Tom Banton adds four to backward point - but that was uppish and only just out of the reach of diving Liam Dawson.

That's fantastic work from Hampshire and the early wicket they needed. Nathan Ellis just bangs the ball in, varies the pace, pitches the ball on the same spot and eventually the wicket falls.

Nathan Ellis' first two deliveries are 86 and 67 mph.

The next is another quicker one and Will Smeed miscues a pull shot to mid-on where James Fuller claims the catch.

    Thumbs up to the bowler.

It's a quality shot, such a difficult shot to play.

To trust the bounce shows that it's a very good wicket.

Brad Wheal is Hampshire's leading wicket-taker with 21 and he opens up from the other end.

The first four are respectable, but Tom Banton then gives himself room and strikes the next with a straight bat over long-off for six.

Perfect start from Somerset. Smeed said thank you very much. He's a strong boy and he just launched it for six.

    Somerset 12-0 (Target 191)

A steady start by Somerset is ruined by the final couple of balls. Chris Wood concedes four singles and then beats Will Smeed with an excellent delivery.

Smeed tries to square cut the next but doesn't make contact - it's called a wide, though, much to Wood's chagrin.

Neil Mallender also calls the next a wide before Smeed hoists a legit delivery over long-on for a huge six. Penny for Wood's thoughts?

Hampshire's bowlers have a big task ahead of them. But of all the bowling line-ups across the country, you would pick this one.

    Somerset 0-0 (Target 191)

Here come Tom Banton and Will Smeed to begin the run-chase for Somerset, who are looking to reach their sixth T20 final.

If Hampshire can defend their total, they will go through to their third.

    Hampshire 190-6 v Somerset

As Ravi Bopara says (see 16:02 entry), a total of 190-6 is a good one - but the Hampshire innings never really seemed to take off once their openers had gone.

Ben McDermott hit three of the five sixes in the innings in his 31 off 17 balls, but 64 off 46 is surely all the Hawks could ask of 19-year-old Tom Prest, an exciting prospect for the future.

James Vince's 20 took him to 673 T20 runs this season - but if Rilee Rossouw can score the 74 he needs to overtake him as the competition's leading scorer, you'd expect Somerset to go very close.

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

That is by some distance Hampshire's highest score in 11 attempts on Finals Day - beating the 173-5 they hit to beat Somerset in the final at the Rose Bowl to win it for the first time in 2010.

But is it enough against an in-form Somerset side who broke the English T20 team scoring record (against Derbyshire in the quarter-final) just seven days ago - and won the last semi-final clash between the two sides here 10 months ago?

    Hampshire 190-6 v Somerset

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Hampshire's 190-6 is probably 20 to 25 runs short of where they feel they ought to have been after some good batting earlier on in their innings.

I think Hampshire will feel they have underachieved and Somerset will be the happier of the two sides at the halfway point.
