This is a lost cause for Somerset. Even my optimism cannot summon runs today.

  3. Postpublished at 18.3 overs

    Somerset 150-7 (Target 191)

Huge swing by Lewis Goldsworthy. No contact.

WICKET Lammonby run out 33published at 18.2 overs

    Somerset 150-7 (Target 191)

    Chris Wood round the wicket.

Tom Lammonby pulls - Mason Crane gathers and his throw is too good as the Somerset batter tries to complete a second run.

It needs to be absolutely HUGE this over. But nobody has done much for Somerset today.

  6. Postpublished at 18.1 overs

    Somerset 149-6 (Target 191)

Angled ball, RVDM slogs, top edge - one run.

    Somerset 148-6 (43 needed off 12 balls)

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This over's a big over, they need at least 20, maybe 24.

You always want 20 off the last, it gives you a chance.

  8. Postpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 16 July 2022

    Somerset 148-6 (Target 191)

Nathan Ellis has the ball - RVDM goes over cover for four.

The next is chopped to short third man - only one and a single for Tom Lammonby follows.

Ellis sends down a slower delivery but a push to mid-wicket enables RVDM to scamper a second.

An inside edge into the pads gives van der Merwe one more and Lammonby can only muster two to deep extra from the final delivery.

    Somerset need 43 from 12.

Hampshire look on top! But you can never rule out this Somerset batting line-up. You just feel that there have been a few big wickets and Somerset really aren't going to be happy with those run outs.

  10. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Somerset 137-6 (Target 191)

RVDM has played some notable innings in his time. This would rank as something special if he can get Somerset over the line here.

He takes a single from the last ball of Chris Wood's over and they need 54 from 18 balls. Even I can work out that is three runs per ball.

  11. wicket

WICKET Green run out 8published at 16.4 overs

    Somerset 136-6 (Target 191)

Chris Wood back - Ben Green slogs the first ball down the ground and over long-on for six.

Green square cuts tries to come back for a second run - it's not a great throw, but Ben McDermott is able to beat his dive with a backhand into the stumps.

    Somerset 127-5 (Target 191)

Somerset badly need a big over! But the pitch has slowed up during the day - it's not easy to hit big shots now.

  13. Postpublished at 16 overs

    Somerset 127-5 (Target 191)

Brad Wheal to Ben Green - dot ball.

Final delivery - single to mid-on.

    Not enough.

Another fine spell for the Hawks - 1-28 by Wheal from his four.

    Mark Davis

Boundaries, boundaries, that's what Somerset need and they can't get it going! Oh well ... this is getting close to no hope.

  15. wicket

WICKET Gregory c Ellis b Wheal 18published at 15.4 overs

    Target 126-5 (Target 191)

Pretty much everything has to go now for Somerset.

By that, we don't mean their batters - but Lewis Gregory pulls Brad Wheal to deep mid-wicket and he is on his way.

Hampshire totally on top in this one at the moment.

  16. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 16 July 2022

    Somerset 122-4 (Target 191)

    Melissa Story

Liam Dawson has been the pick of the bowlers across all four teams today in the semi-finals. He's just so crafty, always watching the batters and what they're doing - he moves, adapts and adjusts,

    Somerset 122-4 (69 needed off 30 balls)

    Carlos Brathwaite

Going at five an over - that could be a game-changing spell from Liam Dawson.

  18. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Somerset 122-4 (Target 191)

Was that a chance? No - the ball falls just short of Ross Whiteley as Lewis Gregory hits to mid-off, but the fielder gets his body in the way to save a boundary.

Superb bowling by Liam Dawson. Only four from the over and he finishes his stint with 1-20.

Somerset need 69 off 30 balls.

    Somerset 118-4 (Target 191)

    Mark Davis

This is a great over for Somerset. the charge is on! This has to be the charge though doesn't it?

  20. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Somerset 118-4 (Target 191)

Tom Lammonby falls over attempting a ramp shot but gets enough on it to loft the ball away for four.

Another boundary follows off the toe end as he square cuts after backing away to the leg-side. He could barely reach that one.

Lammonby ends the over with one - 14 from it, that's more like it.
