A lot of flags and a lot of noise. South Africa are heavily outnumbered here tonight.

    Shot!

Carved through the covers for four by Rizwan, lovely timing.

    Listen to that crowd! Amazing.

This is going to feel pretty much like a home game for Pakistan. Their flags fly in every section of the ground during the anthems.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are greeted by roars from the Sydney crowd, and Wayne Parnell will take the first over for South Africa.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma: "We would have batted first as well. The surface does look dry and there is a little bit of grass. Runs on the board are always crucial but we'll bowl first and we've done that quite well so far. We'll try restrict them to a good total and chase it down.

"My form is not there, but fortunately I've got a great group of guys so in terms of support and confidence there's nothing short from those guys. The team is doing well so that kind of helps as well. I am still positive and believe good things are around the corner.

"David Miller is out injured, it is precautionary I would say."

Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "We will try to put run on the board and put pressure on South Africa. The pitch looks decent and the second innings will help the spinners.

"Of course we give our 100% in this match and try to win and the boys are confident and looking forward to the match.

"One change, unfortunately Fakhar Zaman is out with a knee injury and Mohammad Haris is in."

  12. Pakistan win the toss and choose to batpublished at 07:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

Captain Babar Azam has two attempts at the coin toss, somehow getting it wrong the first time. Not quite sure how you manage that, but anyway, he gets his way and opts to have a bat first.

Temba Bavuma says he would've done the same.

  13. Welcomepublished at 07:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2022

Morning! It's time for Pakistan v South Africa and, despite the 6am wake up call, I must admit I'm pretty excited for this one.

South Africa will confirm their place in the semis if they win, while Pakistan need a win to stay in contention.

Probably two of the best bowling attacks in the tournament are on show, so let's hope we're in for a cracker.
