  1. Pak 136-5published at 16.1 overs

    Over to you, Anrich Nortje.

He has 2-10 so far, he's been brilliant. Can he get South Africa back in it?

A good start, just a single.

Pressure on the bowlers makes them bowl wides. This might just test South Africa here.

  3. Pak 135-5published at 16 overs

Pressure on Ngidi and he doesn't respond well.

A wide, followed by a full toss that is helped on its way for four.

Pakistan are going nicely here. Pressure on South Africa's bowlers for the first time.

That ball is not coming back!

    Pak 129-5published at 15.4 overs

    That is HUGE!

Lungi Ngidi goes way too short and it's smashed into the second tier of the SCG! 106 metres!

    As you do.

I like how Pakistan haven't let Shamsi settle, they kept attacking him.

  7. Pak 120-5published at 15 overs

Good little acceleration for Pakistan, this. 15 runs from the over - can they keep it going for the last five overs?

  8. 6 runs

    Pak 117-5published at 14.4 overs

Another!! This is probably the best of the day, smashed over cover off the spinner. And it's gone 92 metres!

Pakistan fans, though, work on your catching. They've all been dropped in the crowd so far.

  9. Pak 105-5published at 14 overs

A good response from Wayne Parnell after the six, just four dot balls from it.

There is a light drizzle in the air, unfortunately, but I think we'll be okay.

  10. 6 runs

    Pak 101-5published at 13.1 overs

Heaved down the ground by Iftikhar!

Pakistan seemed to have hit loads of sixes but not much else.

And every time there's a six there's a wicket soon after. It's a weird innings so far.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13 overs

    Nawaz lbw b Shamsi 28 (Pak 95-5)

    Six and gone!

This is weird. Nawaz goes for another sweep but is hit on the front pad and given out.

Looks like he's hit it, but then goes for a single, and is run out. So he probably wanted to review it but assumed he would be run out anyway?

No one seems to know what's going on, but either way. He's out. South Africa back in control.

  12. 6 runs

    Pak 95-4published at 12.5 overs

    Here we go!

Slog sweep and dropped in the crowd! Tabraiz Shamsi is fuming but it's a great shot from Mohammad Nawaz.

It's not gone well for Shamsi since that horrible misfield, to be fair.

  13. Pak 88-4published at 12.4 overs

One bounce four... but why was the fielder so far in off the boundary?! Had he stayed on the ropes, it would have been such a straightforward catch.

The momentum is just starting to swing in Pakistan's favour for the first time.

Not a great start for Pakistan but it's the best time to recover now with the ball getting soft.

  15. Pak 82-4published at 12 overs

And the next ball is clubbed down the ground for four more, just to rub it in a little bit more.

At last, a good over for Pakistan.

  16. Pak 78-4published at 11.5 overs

    Oh, a howler!

It should be a regulation piece of fielding from Tabraiz Shamsi down at fine leg but somehow the ball just trickles through his legs and goes for four!

Literally so village. I don't even know how he missed it, maybe he was too casual about it? Either way, bowler Lungi Ngidi is not amused, while Quinton de Kock looks like he's trying not to laugh.

A great over from Tabraiz Shamsi goes for just three as South Africa continue to pile on the pressure.

The crowd goes a little quiet again.

You have to be comfortable against the bounce here. When players come up here they're not used to the bounce of the pitch but if you can manage it well you can score runs.

Tough going for Pakistan but South Africa's bowlers have been absolutely brilliant.
