Kerr c Rudd b Wellington 37 (Spirit 123-2)
It is the breakthrough!
A thin edge from Amelia Kerr and she's got to go, but that's a fine innings.
Spirit are in a very nice position with just over 20 balls to go.
Is this the breakthrough? The wicketkeeper Carla Rudd takes the catch behind the stumps, butt has Amelia Kerr hit it?
Rudd thinks so as she shrieks in delight, but the umpire says no. Let's have a look.

That was really nicely controlled from Beth Mooney.
I'm kinda running out of ways to say "Beth Mooney smashes a four".
I'll just keep copying and pasting it, I reckon. She helps herself to two more from Amanda-Jade Wellington's first two balls.

Southern Brave need to find a way to break this partnership. They have a lot of experience and they are playing beautifully.
It looks a belting track.
Amelia Kerr has had enough of her batting partner taking all the glory.
Step down the pitch, smash the bowler over her head for four.
Easy as you like.

You are really looking to put your foot down now, especially when you've got Dani Gibson in the shed who is a really good ball hitter.
Oh, she's on a roll.
A reverse sweep for four from Mooney, who's just playing games with the bowlers now.
And if you're not sure what a reverse sweep is, here's a handy little explainer.
The Hundred Explainers: Reverse sweep
Just the one wicket so far for Southern Brave, as Amelia Kerr and Beth Mooney have been solid since then.
It's a hot day to be in the field, even if just for 100 balls.
In the air... but safe. Amelia Kerr is trying to kick on but annoyingly for her keeps picking out the fielders.
Beth Mooney's having no trouble, though. She steps a country mile across her stumps, gets down on one knee and sweeps away for four.
Absurd talent.

I expect the par score to go up this year. It was around 130 last year but I expect them to go up because last year was the first year and just about trying to find out how to play. This year people will have more of a game plan and a guide of how to play and at the moment the pitches and outfields are rock hard and you're getting your reward for every shot. I wouldn't be surprised if par became 140-145 this year.
Looks like Beth Mooney's chosen her moment to hit the gas.
She drills one over Molly Strano's head for four more.
Lauren Bell pulls off an excellent bit of fielding to save four runs, and the close up on her allows us to see her bright neon yellow nails. Bit of a clash with the green kit but I rate it.

Fantastic. She is a real pest to bowl at because she's constantly moving around the crease and creating different lengths and angles. It feels like she's picking where the one or two gaps are and moving constantly to adjust to that. Her good form has almost become the norm.

It has been an immaculate innings so far from Beth Mooney. What an innings.
Spirit 88-1
First time batting in The Hundred, scores a 50. Effortlessly awesome from Beth Mooney, reaching her half-century from just 32 balls as she smashes Anya Shrubsole for yet another four.

London Spirit are going along nicely at the moment and they have just upped the scoring rate a bit. It feels like it is difficult for Brave to string any dots together.
And again!
A horrible short ball from Shrubsole literally begs to be hit for four and Beth Mooney gratefully accepts.
Sophia Dunkley skids along the outfield and tries to stop it but Mooney has absolutely nailed it so she has no chance.
Time for a strategic timeout and a much-needed drink.
