It is quite a steep hill here at Leicester so that's probably throwing her off her run up.

These no-balls are really ruining my scorecard.
Lamb 6, Beaumont 15
For the third over in a row, Ismail oversteps. It's becoming an issue, even if it is just having to bowl an extra ball each over on such a hit day.
Once again, the free hit isn't too costly. A slower ball this time that Lamb heaves into the legside for a single.
Six from the over, it's been six from every over so far.

There's just one boundary ball an over at the moment and it's just not threatening.
England know they're going to get a short and wide one so they just don't feel under any pressure.

The bowling has been a problem for South Africa. England's scoring rate across the ODIs so far is 6.76 an over, at an average of 55 per wicket.
Beaumont is presented with a second gift in as many overs from Kapp. This delivery is shorter and even wider than the last. It's the same result: four, slapped away in front of square.
Just a further single from the Ismail over. England off to a solid start.

Shabnim Ismail is one of the scariest cricketers, but she's soft as a teddy bear off the pitch.

Oh, the poor keeper.
That's byes against her but she had absolutely no chance.
Another front-foot no-ball from Ismail, another free hit and another good bouncer. This time it's Lamb who can't get anything on it but the ball keeps tailing away after passing the stumps and neither can Chetty. Four byes.

Well I won't remember that.

The ground is so, so dry. It's parched. We haven't seen pitches like this since 1976.
Lamb 2, Beaumont 8
Better to finish from Kapp as she beats Beaumont on the outside edge.
It has been a rather sloppy start from South Africa, though. There was the no-ball from Ismail, a misfield then gave Lamb another single at the start of this over and a legside wide, too.
Add in a couple of four balls and it's not really set the tone they'd have liked.
Short and wide from Marizanne Kapp and that is easy pickings for Beaumont. She thumps it through the covers and, on this outfield, once it beats the in-field, it's four.

Tammy Beaumont will be really disappointed to have been left out of that Commonwealth Games squad. She's given so much to the T20 side and she's got all the stats and numbers to back it up.
But obviously the England selectors want to go in a different direction. The powerplay is such an important part in T20 cricket and I think that's what the selectors are looking for, someone who can find the boundary more regularly and bring some new faces in.
Ismail makes amends with a well-directed bumper that Beaumont is unable to get anything on. No damage done from the free hit.
There is a few balls later, though, as Beaumont crunches a short ball away through mid-wicket for the first boundary of the day.

Tammy Beaumont's lucked out, the first ball she gets to face is a free hit!
We're off but it's not the start South Africa wanted as Ismail is chopped down to deep third by Emma Lamb for a single. That's fine but it's called a no-ball. Free hit.

I am so surprised that South Africa have chosen to bowl first in these conditions.
The players take a knee and we're ready to go. Shabnim Ismail will bowl the first over for South Africa.
