It is always useful to mark your card when any new series gets under way.

This opening game is followed by a day-nighter (13:00 BST) at Canterbury on Wednesday, before the series concludes at Lord's on Saturday (11:00).

That match at Lord's will be a rematch of the 2017 World Cup final, which England won by nine runs.

It will be the first time England have played at the famous ground since, but a lot of their players are now used to playing there because of The Hundred.

It's always a good wicket here - blue sky. I'd have had a bat first here.

England captain Amy Jones: "It is a beautiful day. It is always a lovely place to play and the sun has come out for us so we're happy.

"It was definitely a surprise to get the captaincy but I really enjoyed it throughout the T20s and I'm just relishing the opportunity.

"Alice [Capsey] has been brilliant all summer so just really looking forward to seeing what she can do in ODI fold.

"The team has looked a little bit different this summer, there are a lot of youngsters around, which has brought a lot of energy to the group and at the back end of the summer that is definitely key. They have lifted us as we've gone into this series."

Alice Capsey will be making her England one-day international debut today.

It caps off a summer that has also seen her make her T20 debut. I suspect a red-ball cap isn't too far away either.

There is no place for Freya Kemp or Maia Bouchier today, though. Full teams shortly.
