It was nearly one of the great crowd catches you will ever witness. It was right on the back row. He is absolutely furious.

That is a big one! Moeen Ali pulled the previous ball behind square for four and this time he just picks up the delivery from Stoinis and swings it high and handsome over square leg for six!
It reaches the very back of the stand where a fan shells the catch. He went one handed. Very ambitious.
Risky! Very risky! Moeen guides the last ball of the over to backward point but Malan calls for the single anyway.
The throw comes in but Cummins can't quite flick the ball onto the stumps as he rushes to get back into position. Had he done so, Moeen was gone.
It's been a slow start for Moeen Ali tonight but this is a lovely shot. Overpitched by Cummins and Moeen thumps it back past him, all along the ground for four.

David Hill: This is why I prefer Buttler in the middle order. Need that class and experience in the middle if things go wrong. Salt or Jacks can open.
Will Jacks isn't in the World Cup squad, David.

Sean Lynch-Lawton: Malan proving his worth yet again. T20 can't all be big shots and big risk. You always need at least one player capable of decent a low risk run-a-ball innings to rebuild in situations like this.
A good over for England with 12 coming from it, 11 of them for Dawid Malan.
He has come in for plenty of criticism over the years - usually for how long it takes him to get up and running in his innings - but he looks on it here.
There is a reason he was the top-ranked T20I batter in the world not that long ago.

Dawid Malan looks like a man who was a bit slighted at coming in at seven the other day.
Malan 44, Moeen 5
Malan on the sweep... high over deep mid-wicket and all the way for six!
He missed with a reverse sweep the previous ball but he gets all of this one. It was well over the rope but even this one was in the gap between the fielders in the deep. Excellent batting.
Fantastic shot from Malan - again! A touch of width from Zampa and Malan opens the face as he drives, sending the ball that much squarer and finds the gap once more.
Another boundary as the England number three holds this innings together.
Australia's Marcus Stoinis, speaking on BT Sport: "We're in a good spot at the moment but they've got two good batters in at the moment. I'll leave it to the big boys to take it from here."

This game is all about building momentum. England have to find a way of wrestling it back to set themselves up for the final five overs where they have to aim to pick up fifty.
We're at the halfway stage and Australia are well on top as the players take drinks.
England need Malan and Moeen to stay together for a while longer and put them in a position to really kick on late in the innings.
Malan 33, Moeen 5
Top shot from Malan. He picks up the length from Starc in an instance and nails the pull shot in front of square, into the gap for a welcome boundary.
England have struggled tonight (I know, top class analysis, as ever!) but Malan has looked in really good touch so far.

Mark Burt: Starting to think Stokes needs to retire from international T20 cricket. Never thought I’d say this but he’s weakened the side.
Theo: Stokes looks horribly out of form. I personally wouldn’t play him in T20s. Doesn’t offer enough with the bat.
Eng 60-4
Short, wide and slapped to backward point by Moeen Ali. Glenn Maxwell is there but the ball bursts through his hands.
Usually such a reliable fielder but that is a pretty bad drop. A let off for England.

That was a nothing sort of shot. His feet were going nowhere.
Brook c Wade b Stoinis 1 (Eng 54-4)
Feathered behind and England are in big trouble now.
Back of a length from Stoinis and Brook just pushes at it outside off. A thin edge carries through to Matthew Wade to give the all-rounder his second wicket.
Harry Brook is in at five and off the mark first ball. A full toss from Zampa and the Yorkshireman will be a little frustrated not to have got more than a single from it.
England are up against it with Australia's first-choice attack flexing their muscles in the opening stages.

That's hardly the sort of innings that will fill the selectors with confidence. Stokes may be England's Test captain but in T20 cricket there is no certainty he will be in the England side for the start of the World Cup.
