    Moeen c David b Zampa 44 (Eng 146-5)

    The partnership is finally broken.

After drilling the previous ball down the ground for four, Moeen tries to hit Zampa over the top.

It's a googly from Zampa, though, and the ball comes off the outside half of the bat and is comfortably held by Tim David at long off.

  2. Moeen dropped on 38published at 16.3 overs

    Eng 142-4

Another dropped catch but his one really would have been a stunner from Zampa.

Moeen hammered it back at the leg-spinner, he stuck out his right hand and the ball just bounced out of it.

    England run two.

Australia will be frustrated because they had England in such a vulnerable position and weren't able to capitalise.

  4. Eng 140-4published at 16 overs

Cummins ends his over - and his spell - with a good slower ball bouncer that deceives Malan and brings a dot ball.

It's been a superb fightback from England, though. They'll be pushing for 180 or so from here.

  5. Eng 140-4published at 15.5 overs

Moeen Ali gets lucky. He top-edges a pull shot off Cummins but the ball loop kindly for him, right into a big gap on the leg side as two fielders come sprinting in to try and take the catch.

  6. Eng 138-4published at 15.3 overs

    Malan 67, Moeen 37

On the back foot, reaching for it but Malan middles another one. The ball is over cover this time and bounces away for four.

What a knock this has been so far to take England out of trouble.

All of sudden England are right back in this game after some big hitting in the last half an hour. This has been a great partnership.

  8. Eng 131-4published at 15 overs

That's another very good over for England, albeit with Australia giving them a helping hand on more than one occasion.

The visitors are on for a decent total now, especially when you consider that Malan has a strike-rate of 188 in the last five overs of T20 internationals.

  9. dropped catch

Malan dropped on 54published at 14.4 overs

    Eng 130-4

Malan tries to hit over the off side but sends the ball high - very high - and surely not far enough.

It's not but Tim David still has to back peddle towards the long off boundary, gets his hands on it and pushes it over the rope.

Another dropped catch, a big let-off for Malan and a bonus six runs to his total as well.

That was a senseless review. The fielders were all in position for the next ball.

  11. Australia reviewpublished at 14.3 overs

    Eng 124-4

Australia have caught everyone on the hop and called for a review for lbw as Moeen digs out a yorker.

There looked to be bat involved... and there is. Not out.

  12. 6 runs

    Eng 123-4published at 14.2 overs

Smoked over point by Moeen Ali. He absolutely nails it as Mitchell Starc offered up some width.

It probably should have been taken on the rope by David Warner but he misjudges it, comes in too far, and the ball just clears him and goes for six.

To make matters worse for the Aussies, Warner banged his head as he fell back and is also holding his lower back. He's going to head off the field so Australia will hope it's nothing serious.

Norm: Does anyone have more natural talent in the England cricket team than Moeen Ali?

  15. Eng 116-4published at 14 overs

A bit of good luck for Moeen Ali to end the Hazlewood over. He tries to push the ball into the off side, gets an inside edge and the ball runs away fine for four.

That makes it 13 from the over. Another good 'un for England.

Those criticising Dawid Malan are watching the wrong game. He looks a wonderful player.

The run map shows Dawid Malan scored 53 with 2 sixes, 5 fours, 1 three, 2 twos, and 14 singles for England
  17. 50 runs

    Eng 106-4

That's another half-century for Dawid Malan - his 14th in T20 internationals. It comes up from 31 balls and it has been a very classy knock.

A nice way to mark his 50th T20I.

  18. Eng 104-4published at 13.1 overs

A single from the first ball of Hazlewood's over and that brings up the fifty partnership between Moeen and Malan.

A good fightback from the tourists.

Adam Davies: These are World Cup warm-up matches. Clue is in the title. Ben Stokes is too good of a cricketer to not play. He offers batting, bowling and experience. Maybe should put Brooks above him but that's it for me.

  20. 100 runs

    Eng 103-4published at 13 overs

    Malan 47, Moeen 24

That's the kind of over England needed, 14 from it.

Stoinis said at the drinks break that he was going to "leave it to the big boys" in the second half, Aaron Finch thought differently and the gamble has not paid off.
