After one from Joe Root we're going to have another over before lunch.
Shakeel is surrounded as he defends his first ball.
Ben Stokes gives Leach a big low five at the end of the over. England will be pretty happy with their work in this session.
Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special
The previous ball turned ever so slightly outside the off stump. He's adjusted his line and gone straight, really well bowled from Leach.
Here's Saud Shakeel on debut. Pakistan are still 367 runs behind.
Azhar lbw b Leach 27 (Pak 290-3)
Clattering into leg stump! The new ball does the trick for Jack Leach and England right on the stroke of lunch.
Could it be sliding down? That is surely the only thing that could save Azhar.
Azhar Ali is given lbw! It's Jack Leach with the new ball.
The batter reviews but it looked out.

Outstanding. This makes me think not much ever happens to me although a barber did once get arrested halfway through cutting my hair.
England have taken the new ball.

I vaguely heard a bang one night. Thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. Turns out the bang was a drunk driver hitting a parked car outside our house. The reason I know this is because my wife made tea and coffee for the police who charged the driver with drunk driving and the paramedics who treated her for shock, all in our living room. I had absolutely no idea until i was informed in the morning!

14 minutes to go until lunch. One over until the new ball becomes available.

I'm a big fan of curling - every four years at least. What a sport.
Babar drives Robinson for four, meanwhile. I know without having to look up from my keyboard just by the noise of the crowd.

I stayed awake for all but the last three stones of the 2002 Olympic Women's Curling final. I only realised I'd fallen asleep after Rhona Martin's 'stone of destiny' had won the gold and Dougie Donnelly's excited "She's done it!" commentary woke me up.

Really tough.
Jimmy Anderson, on for the first time today, is hit to the cover boundary by Azhar but later in the over almost manages to nab a wicket. Azhar inside-edges onto pad but Zak Crawley can't cling on one-handed at leg slip.
Azhar 16, Babar 12
There's a pun in there somewhere.

Once woke up in a tent in my friend's garden with his fully grown Rottweiler sitting on my head. No idea how long it had been there but my head was very warm.

It seems Will Jacks has been given Ray Charles' Hit the Road Jack as his Barmy Army song. A predictable one, I guess.
Simon and Garfunkel's Mrs Robinson begins again as Ollie Robinson removes his cap.

Pakistan were struggling yesterday but both the openers have put in a wonderful partnership and put their team in a position where they can save themselves even though the deficit is more than 400.

Sounds like my brother. He'd sleep through the apocalypse.
Robinson is bowling tidily here. The new ball is five overs away, if England want it.

I woke up on 16th October 1987 to find the garden destroyed by falling trees and debris. Even The Great Storm of 1987 couldn’t disturb me.
