    The birds you can see in Pakistan will be Black Kites. In Australia they are know to spread bush fires with burning branches to flush out prey.

    Speaking as a slightly obsessive birder, my money is on the birds of prey around the stadium being Black Kites, or possibly Black-winged Kites, as opposed to Red (which we get in numbers in the UK).

    We should play on for a while yet but are unlikely to see a full session.

    Joe Root coming around the wicket to Babar Azam who helps the ball fine off his pads towards the boundary.

    Jack Leach does brilliantly to claw the ball back from the rope - but replays showed his knee was touching the boundary sponge. Unlucky.

    Another lovely backfoot push from Babar disappears for another four to end the over.

    It was hit back hard and the bounce took Wood by surprise. He even got a finger on it but couldn't stop it.

    That looked effortless from Babar Azam as he pushes the ball back to Mark Wood, who cannot field on his follow through, and it flies away for four.

    There's lots of chirping from the four England players around the wicket as Jack Leach bowls his second maiden of the innings.

    I suspect Leach will be asked to hold up an end for much of this match.

    I've got some news for everybody. Gary Ballance has mutually terminated his contract with Yorkshire and is heading back to Zimbabwe to play international cricket.

    South Africa's Mignon du Preez has also announced her retirement from international cricket and it's interesting considering there's a T20 World Cup coming up.
