  1. Pak 106-3published at 36 overs

'Oh, that's nice' shouts Ollie Pope from the behind the stumps as Saud Shakeel blocks teasing Jack Leach delivery.

Leach is varying his angles, going over and around the wicket, but it has been a while since he really got one to really grip and turn.

We've seen some quality bowling from England's fast bowlers. You don't expect to see such deliveries on Pakistani pitches. It was the perfect length to bowl on these pitches.

  3. Pak 105-3published at 35 overs

Will Jacks struggles with his length first up. Saud Shakeel cuts a short delivery to point for two before a backfoot push through the covers for four two deliveries later.

A bit of a loosener that from Jacks.

  4. Pak 98-3published at 34 overs

I think Ben Stokes just likes mixing things up. He has rotated his bowlers and fielding positions throughout this innings.

Good comeback from Jack Leach after being smacked for that four first up, throwing down five dots.

Time for another new bowler: Will Jacks will give it a twirl for the first time in this innings.

I don't understand. Every time one of our worldy quickies bowls, he gets a wicket, only to be replaced after a teeny spell by a not particularly penetrative or economical spinner.

    Yours bemusedly, Matron

Bad ball from Leach, he dropped it down short. Anything short and the batsman's got time to adjust.

  7. Pak 98-3published at 33.1 overs

That's good foot movement from Imam-ul-Haq as he rocks onto his back foot and clatters another short delivery from Jack Leach away for four.

Anything that is dropped short is going for runs on this track.

Wonderful piece of fielding from Anderson. He had to run a long way.

  9. Pak 94-3published at 32 overs

That's a brilliant piece of fielding from James Anderson as he sprints to the long-on boundary to claw the ball back from the rope.

    Is that man really 40?

Back to reactions; Virat Kohli’s reaction to “that ball” from Rashid. Eyes as big as saucers.

Catch it! is the cry as Saud Shakeel top-edges a sweep but the ball drops well short of Mark Wood on the square leg boundary.

Ben Stokes brings Wood in a few metres in response.

Joe Root is having a bowl. Mark Wood straight out of the attack after taking a wicket.

Root is loosening up, maybe he'll have a bowl.

  14. Pak 90-3published at 30 overs

Jack Leach is not getting too much turn and when he drops it in short Pakistan help themselves.

Imam-ul-Haq doesn't look to be struggling too much with that hamstring injury as he pushes the ball down to mid-on for two.

    It. Is. Very. Good. (Sorry)

  16. Pak 88-3published at 29 overs

There's a rueful smile on Mark Wood's face as a snares a genuine edge off Imam-Ul-Haq but the ball goes well wide of first slip and away for four. Another leading edge goes straight to third man for a single.

I don't think Wood will mind that.

England's pace trio Mark Wood, James Anderson and Ollie Robinson are talking animately with Ben Stokes. They have certainly delivered for their captain this session.

Imam-ul-Haq, who had to go to hospital for a scan on a hamstring issue earlier, is the new batter.

That's another wonderous sight for a fast bowler. Third time we've seen that today and on all occasions, you can say that the batsmen were quite blameless.

Mark Wood has absolutely dismembered Shafique's off-stump. He's getting a bear-hug from his captain Stokes. That's the third Pakistani batsmen who's been left there wondering what happened.
