Pakistan's recovery continues. I like the look of Wasim.

Wow! Here's me thinking Mohammad Wasim is just going to see off the last two balls of Jack Leach's over but instead he charges down and launches the spinner for six.

And now Salman comes skipping down the wicket. Four more runs off Jack Leach.

  4. 50 runs

Salman Agha has warmed up nicely - a pun for the older readers there.

He's played well and has protected Wasim from Wood in this over too. A single takes him to 50.

England have had five different wicket-takers, a run out and Stokes hasn't bowled yet.

  6. Pak 285-8published at 75 overs

The light is holding and now Mohammad Wasim Jnr is in. England may fancy finishing this innings off tonight.

In fact, I think they're going to try and do it quickly. Mark Wood is back.

Nauman didn't get hold of it well and Stokes was always going to catch it and he did.

    England have another!

Nauman goes for another big swish off Leach but this time skies a catch into the air. Ollie Robinson and Ben Stokes are both converging on the high catch but it's the England captain who calls and takes it safely.

The fielders usually know, and when Babar was run out they were jubilant.

  10. Pak 280-7published at 74 overs

I thought Bazball had wiped out this kind of negativity...

England briefly get excited about a run-out chance as Salman and Nauman end up almost at the same end. Jack Leach sprawls to make a diving save but can't get the throw to the wicketkeeper's end quick enough.

They go upstairs again but Nauman is in comfortably.

Ben (11:13): You could be thinking 700 is par. But also, if an 18-year-old leggie can do well on debut, imagine what Abrar might do. Let's see how England go with 300 or so on the board.

Another boundary is leaked at the end of Rehan Ahmed's over. England don't want to let this get away at the end of the day.

    Joe Root is coming on.

That's a fine shot from Salman Agha. Very controlled shot. He used his feet nicely and plays that shot over the covers so beautifully.

  14. Pak 272-7published at 72 overs

More hitting from this Pakistan pair! Leach is the victim as Salman Agha comes down the pitch. It's a lovely-looking shot. Or that might just be because he is batting in a cap.

Oh and now Nauman adds a second boundary with a reverse sweep.

This partnership is now worth 35 in five overs.

Rehan's googly spins more than his leg spin so Nauman needs to be careful about which ones he hits.

  16. Pak 261-7published at 71 overs

This is a good battle. 36-year-old Nauman Ali continues his aggression, hacking at Rehan Ahmed and getting four. Teenager Ahmed responds by tossing one up higher and the left-hander gets a thick outside edge, almost skewing a catch.

I think the order for Nauman is to just score runs.

Poor Ollie Pope will be asking Ben Foakes for a rock, paper, scissors contest for the gloves. He's nearly wiped out by another sweep shot here. It feels like Salman and Nauman are looking to score more quickly late in the day.

You fast-track people at times when you see how talented they are.

When you bring a young player on tour you don't throw him in the deep end but we all know Stokes is innovative and has given him the opportunity and Rehan is responding really well.

Waqar is purring on TMS about Rehan Ahmed now. After a nervy start this has turned into an impressive first showing.
