There's lots of noise around the bat. Not much of it seems to make much sense.
Plenty of shouts of "bowled, nut" to encourage Leach.

There's no real turn for Root.
I'm not saying I'm against this ploy but if England are going to bowl a seamer tonight they'll have to do it quickly before the light fades further.
It's not going to Mark Wood, or even Ollie Robinson to open the bowling.
Joe Root having a whirl.

That would have been almost identical to how Leach dismissed Abdullah Shafique in the first innings.
The tech says it would have missed leg stump.

I think that was the right decision to not review that.
Big, big appeal for lbw!
Jack Leach isn't sure. He thinks it is sliding on.
Ben Stokes decides against the review.
There are shadows across the pitch. Ollie Pope is ready at short leg for any catch that may come.

That 50-run lead gives England the slight advantage, obviously. History suggests England wouldn't want to chase more than 250 on this pitch but England don't look at the record books anymore.
It will be Jack Leach to open.
Vic Marks
Former England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
England did really well. They got 89 runs from their last three wickets.
It should be Wood and Leach, for me. Surely that's who Pakistan would like to face the least.

Leach ran off the pitch because he knows there's every chance he'll be asked to open the bowling.
Pakistan's innings will start in just under 10 minutes. They'll then have around 40 minutes to bat until the close.
The light should be fine. If England can nip out one or two they'll be right in the driving seat.

There's going to be some poor-ish light when Pakistan come on to bat.

Darren Fox: 76 from the tail. Love that.
Robinson b Abrar 29 (Eng 354 all out)
No need to worry about the declaration...
Ollie Robinson is bowled by leggie Abrar Ahmed.
England's innings ends with a lead of exactly 50. That did not look likely at 145-5.

Pakistan will be frustrated here.
I wonder if Ben Stokes is thinking about a sneaky declaration.
Another reverse sweep from Robinson. Another four. The lead passes 50.

England are in a good position. They can get Pakistan in when the light isn't very good.

Jack Leach is brimming with confidence after that reverse sweep. This time he comes charging down, slicing the ball nowhere near where he aimed.
Ollie Robinson plays a smart, delicate reverse at the end of the over.
He's got a good touch for a big man, as they say.
