It's been a good partnership between Crawley and Duckett. England are trying to get this done as soon as possible. Crawley has done his job for England.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.3 overs

Crawley lbw Abrar 41 (Eng 87-1)

Out! The replay showed it was going on to hit leg stump.

Good decision by umpire Joel Wilson.

There's no bat involved... and it's taking time out of the game that England need.

  4. England reviewpublished at 11.3 overs

Abrar Ahmed is back into the attack and he thinks he has trapped Zak Crawley lbw as he attempted a paddle sweep down on one knee.

Joel Wilson puts up the finger - but Crawley immediately reviews.

In response to Ben (11.54), it reflects the new mentality of the team. Also though, teams often make a small run chase difficult by being cautious and allowing the bowling team to apply pressure. This new approach can take it away from the opposition in just 20mins of explosive play.

  6. Eng 87-0published at 11 overs

    Target 167

To rub salt into the wounds, Mohammad Wasim's over ends with Ben Duckett clattering the ball through the covers for another four.

England need 80 to win. It is a race against the light now.

  7. Not outpublished at 10.3 overs

He didn't hit it - but the ball was going on to miss the stumps.

Pakistan have burned two reviews in rapid succession.

This is tight, I don't think he's hit it.

  9. Pakistan reviewpublished at 10.3 overs

This might be a little closer.

Zak Crawley shuffles across his stumps as he looks to play the ball onto the leg-side and the ball smacks into his back foot.

Mohammad Wasim Jnr's appeal is turned down by the umpire but he almost pleads with Babar Azam to go for the review, which he does at the very last second.

  10. Not outpublished at 10.1 overs

Nope. Zak Crawley was nowhere near it.

If this is out, it won't go down very well with England.

  12. Pakistan reviewpublished at 10.1 overs

A rather hopeful review from Pakistan as Zak Crawley looked to clip a leg-side delivery off Mohammad Wasim Jnr.

Babar Azam took his time before eventually sending it upstairs, perhaps influenced by a replay on the big screen.

Alphonse Rawlinson: The approach England are taking makes sense. They are hitting the danger spinners out of the attack to put the pressure back on Pakistan. This has forced the seamers to return on a pitch that offers them nothing, putting England in a safe space with a platform

  14. Eng 80-0published at 10 overs

I don't think a safety first approach applies to this England team, Benjamin. They will always look to do things as quickly and in the most entertaining fashion possible.

Faheem Ashraf bowls a little full and wide, with Ben Duckett driving gloriously through to covers for another boundary.

The next delivery is even wider and Duckett helps himself, cutting square through point for four.

    87 more runs needed.

Can someone explain to me why England are trying to win it tonight, rather than playing more cautiously so as to be sure of the win? It's very entertaining and everything, and maybe that's reason enough for it, but it's difficult for me, as someone fairly new to cricket, to see how it could be the best strategy for winning the game. Granted, it seems to be working out fine so far.

If England don't do it today they will do it tomorrow, unless something cataclysmic happens and it doesn't seem like that at the moment.

The status of Duckett has changed remarkably over the course of this tour as well.

  18. Eng 70-0published at 9 overs

    Target 167

A rare false shot from Zak Crawley flashes off the inside edge and down to fine leg for four. A hint of swing there for Mohammad Wasim Jnr.

Another whippy cut shot brings a single for Ben Duckett. England now need just 97 runs to win.

To put this England performance into context, no visiting team has ever won a Test series 3-0 in Pakistan, while England had never won more than one Test in a single series in the country before this one.

It's so typical of Stokes to now bring Rehan on until so late and then he takes a five-for.

Stokes at the minute can do anything.

When Pakistan won their first ever Test match at the Oval in the 1950s, England lost because they wanted to finish it off that day and they were a bit careless and got bowled out pretty fast.

I'm not saying that is going to happen here because they are looking so comfortable. They have barely missed a ball.
