Blundell is having a fine time, he's got his best Test score after thumping back-to-back boundaries off Stokes and pulls a single to take the deficit below 30.

As well as being frustrated by this last-wicket stand, England's fielders are also struggling with the setting sun getting in their eyes, making it very tough to pick up the pink ball.

Blundell continues to defy England and gets a single fifth ball, too. Tickner sees out the last from Robinson and Blundell will be on strike to start the next over.

Big cheers as Blair Tickner fends off a short ball from Stokes and scampers through for a single, his first run in Test cricket.

Blundell then pulls for four before going for a big drive to end the over. He gets an outside edge but with no slip in place, Ben Foakes has to fling himself to his right.

The wicketkeeper gets a glove on it but can't cling on. More frustration for England.

It's not pretty but it's another boundary for Tom Blundell. After five dot balls, a thick outside edge loops up and over slip.

Tickner plays out a maiden from Leach but only after nearly being run out.

He pushed the ball out to point and set off for a single. Blundell was having none of it and Tickner had to turn back and gets there with a bit of help from a wayward throw.

Robinson is ramped for four and the Kiwi centurion follows that up by running at the bowler and slapping the ball back past him. Straight enough that the umpire has to duck it, top shot.

Tom Blundell has decided it's go time! He smashes Leach for two boundaries to end the over after nailing the third ball for six.

That puts him four away from a century but it also means number 11 Blair Tickner is on strike for the start of Ollie Robinson's over...

I was interested to see how New Zealand approached this session, they obviously want to get as close to England's first-innings total as possible.

But equally, they'll want to have a decent crack at England's top-order with the new ball under lights.

That wicket probably makes the decision for them.
