Very good comeback from Henry. He beats Brook all ends up to round out the over but the Yorkshireman, one of two out there right now, has been brilliant.

This is now a record partnership for England in Wellington, it stands at 236.

  2. 150 runs

He's quite good, this lad. Back-to-back boundaries for Harry Brook to take him to 150 from 146 balls.

The first is pulled through mid-wicket, the next delicately guided down to third.

    What a player.

  3. Eng 246-3published at 55 overs

Neil Wagner - who, like in Mount Maunganui, has taken some tap today - continues after tea.

He's around the wicket now and it brings a more economical over, just two punched through the covers by Brook from it.

  4. Eng 244-3published at 54 overs

    Root 73, Brook 142

Yep, he's doing it again. Harry Brook starts the session by drilling a half-volley from Henry back through mid-off.

Right out of the middle, don't run for those.

Matt Henry has been the pick of the Black Caps bowlers and he'll bowl the first over of the evening session.

New Zealand are walking out to the middle for this evening session after a quick huddle on the boundary edge. Tim Southee needs a big session from his side.

And here come Joe Root and Harry Brook. More of the same is the order of the day for the England pair.

The TV have just shown a graphic that puts Harry Brook fifth in the number of Test runs scored after nine innings.

He's ahead of Don Bradman and only needs another 40 to top that list. Silly numbers from the Yorkshireman.

What an innings from Brook. Green top in New Zealand at 21-3 and he just waltzed to a hundred without breaking sweat. What a talent.

Brook is in that bubble and he has been for a while. It must be his best hundred. I didn't see all of his innings in Pakistan but the conditions he started that innings in today...

Now the bowlers are tired but he has earned the right to play as he is. He's got Joe Root at the other end, a good friend of his and probably an idol of his.

    Thanks, Mike.

It really has been fun! Harry Brook is making Test cricket look easy so far. He's been magnificent again.

England will also be delighted to see Joe Root back in the runs. Back-to-back fifties for him now and he'll be keen to push on and get a big one.

England will resume shortly, and I'm leaving you in the capable hands of Sam Drury for the evening session. It's been a lot of fun.

It's been unbelievable really. I think the thing that has been most impressive is Harry Brook's ability to recognise the moments in that session where he needed to soak it up.

They got through that first half hour and then as the session progressed it was like an explosion.

Just the one more from the over off Wagner, but it'll be little consolation for the seamer who also endured a miserable second innings at Mount Maunganui.

New Zealand go wicketless in the session, as Joe Root and Harry Brook plundered 136 runs.

After seeing off a difficult spell from Matt Henry, Brook has dazzled with some beautifully timed strokes all round the ground as he brought up his fourth Test century.

    More agony for Neil Wagner!

Brook clouts him through the covers for four before stepping back to place Wagner's delivery right in the arc - the ball flies high over the mid-wicket boundary for six more.

The Yorkshireman is running at 135 off 129 balls.

Michael Bracewell returns in place of Southee and offers a bit of handbrake - just two off it.

Kane Williamson collects in the covers and skids impressively on his knees - there's kids in church halls across the world who'd be admiring that effort.

Suhel Ahmed: Harry Brook might have just eclipsed KP as my favourite England batter to watch, pure power as well as temperament in abundance. Root is going in his majestic way too. Ridiculously good to watch!

Quieter over from Wagner - he still goes for six off the over but nothing goes to the ropes.

The final ball is slower and Brook leaves it alone, Tom Blundell takes it down by his feet.

Not the most dramatic way to bring up the double century partnership as Root's shot breaks the hands of the fielder at mid-off and runs away for two.
