England think they've got a fourth wicket as Latham tries to reverse sweep and the ball pops up to Root at slip.
Was there any bat or glove involved. Latham thinks not and reviews.

I think it's been a good hour of Test cricket. England have bowled well, New Zealand have been gutsy and determined.
NZ 60-3
Ollie Robinson has finally conceded a run - just the one, mind - but he has bowled superbly and continues to look threatening.
He tries to make that even clearer to Latham by throwing the ball back at the stumps following the last delivery of the over.
Time for drinks.
Latham 34, Nicholls 19
Quite the welcome from Latham to Leach. Fifth ball of the over and the Black Caps opener is down the track and launching the ball over long on for six!
England again try to get the ball changed at the end of the over, again they are unsuccessful.

Jack Leach will bowl into the breeze. Now what's his plan? Well, perhaps not Harry Brook letting the ball through his legs while he was warming up and it ending up halfway to the boundary.
What more could you want on a Friday night, Neil?!
A bit of Bennie and the Jets to get us all prepared for Leach's first over.

The ball after that remarkable leave from Latham, Robinson takes a chunk out of the pitch as the seam digs into the pitch before jagging away to beat the outside edge.
Another maiden for Robinson and now we are going to see Jack Leach get a bowl.
Goodness me! How has that missed?!
A, erm, brave leave from Latham as Robinson bowls to him from around the wicket.
The ball flies millimetres over the top of middle and off.

Jack Leach is starting to warm up so we might well see him shortly.
For now though, Broad continues and Latham drives nicely through the covers for three.
The ball is certainly doing less than it was a few overs back an so Jimmy Anderson has a word with the umpires about changing it, the request is politely (I assume) declined.

It's getting to the stage now where some of the heat has dissipated after the start England had with the new ball. Time for Jack Leach, maybe?
Three overs from Ollie Robinson so far in this innings and he is yet to concede a run.
In his third maiden on the spin, he changes the angle a couple of times, starting and ending the over from around the wicket after going over in between.

Crickettapetumjosh: If Henry Nicholls gets a ton here because Wayne Ellis at 00:55 “went early” and said they won’t come back from 21-3, I’ll be furious.
After a change of ends, Stuart Broad is back and gets through a tidy over.
Just a single from it and a half-hearted lbw appeal against Nicholls. It looked a little high.
When you're the spin bowler on a green top.
With Broad and Anderson not happy with their work in the last few minutes, Ben Stokes turns to Ollie Robinson and he quickly stops that steady trickle of runs for New Zealand.
A maiden ends with Robinson beating Nicholls on the outside edge.
That is lovely stuff, Joey. You can be very pleased with your night's work.

Joey Gambles: Re: the Will Young gag by Duncan at 01:00. Seeing as how he nicked off, I would have gone with Leave Right Now.
Latham 23, Nicholls 17
It's early days but this is looking like a good partnership for New Zealand, it is certainly irking Jimmy Anderson.
England's brilliant, but infamously grumpy, fast bowler is not happy with himself for allowing Nicholls and Latham to rotate the strike.
He finishes the over well, though, beating Latham's edge from around the wicket.
