England batter (and bowler?) Harry Brook to BT Sport on his dismissal of Kane Williamson: "I just thought I'd push him back with a bumper first ball and thankfully nicked him second ball. It gave us the breakthrough and it opened up the game.

"I heard a noise and Joe Root was certain he it it, he changed Stokesy's mind (on the review).

"Stokesy said at tea I might actually have a bowl so to be ready but I haven't bowled since the start of last summer with Yorkshire so my shoulder is a bit sore this morning."

On the pitch and England's approach: "There has been a bit in it all game. A bit of bounce and seam throughout. But we will still play the same positive brand of cricket to put pressure on the bowlers and try and chase it as quick as possible."

    Sir Alastair Cook
Former England captain on BT Sport

It was tactical. If there was a spinner on, Robinson was going. If there was a seamer on, Broad was going.

I did text Broady asking, 'is the Hawk down?' But he said he was fully padded up and if it was a seamer, he was ready to go.

Having to chase 258 to win would not have been England's plan after they asked New Zealand to follow-on, but it sticks to their desire for compelling Test cricket.

    Into day five we go...

Even in a game they looked to have won inside a couple of days, England have managed to manufacture a thrilling conclusion.

All results are still possible. England need 210 more runs, New Zealand need nine wickets.

The first ball is just 15 minutes away.
