Gone this time. It has started to come around, I can confirm.

Van der Dussen might've survived the lbw shout but this time he gets bat on the reverse sweep, enough bat to hit it straight to Moeen Ali at point.

And was he spot on! He doesn't get many wrong does Marais Erasmus. Ball-tracker shows it was missing off stump comfortably.

  3. England reviewpublished at 28.1 overs

Oh do we have another one here? It looked close.

Rashid tosses it up full on middle stump and Van der Dussen premeditates the sweep. There's a loud appeal from England but Erasmus stays unmoved. After some consultation, Buttler goes for the review.

  4. SA 174-2published at 28 overs

van der Dussen 34, Markram 0

A wicket maiden from Sam Curran. That's exactly what Buttler was looking for.

To be brutally honest, it might not be the worst thing in the world for South Africa to have a fresh batter at the crease. Wasn't long ago that Bavuma was struggling with cramp.

Oh has it started to come around already? Has it started...

Who else other than Sam Curran to give England a much-needed breakthrough? He's always in the thick of it when England need something to happen.

It was a needless shot from Bavuma to be honest, it was well outside off stump and he looked to scoop it over fine leg. All he ended up doing was scooping it back onto his stumps. Well, there you have it. A wicket, a much needed one at that, for England.

  6. SA 174-1published at 27 overs

Bavuma 109, van der Dussen 34

South Africa might look like they're comfortably ahead right now but if you cast your mind back to just the previous game, England were well in control of their chase before they lost their way.

Just saying that there's nothing stopping something similar happening to South Africa today. After all, what goes around comes around, doesn't it?

Topley managed to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end as South Africa snuck through for a single but van der Dussen was comfortably home. Eventually they get an overthrow from it too.

Long way to go in this game still.

Bavuma 103, van der Dussen 30

The little treatment Bavuma received from the physio before that over seems to have worked its magic. Or is it the adrenaline from getting the hundred?

I can't tell but either way, he's moving swiftly again.

Buttler, who're you looking at to buy you a wicket?

Thank you Tim. I come into the hot seat as chants of "Bavuma! Bavuma!" ring around the ground. It really has been a fantastic knock.

    He's done it.

Apart from the occasional wild swipe - usually premeditated - it's been a fairly chanceless innings from Temba Bavuma. He's buzzed with intent from ball one.

The run map shows Temba Bavuma scored 101 with 1 six, 14 fours, 1 three, 5 twos, and 26 singles for South Africa.Image source, BBC Sport

Temba Bavuma going through a few more stretches here.

It's finely poised this one. England are under pressure but a wicket or two changes everything as we saw with in the first ODI.

Which way will it go? I'll leave you in the hands of Anurag Hegde to talk you through the next 26 overs.

Temba Bavuma is in sight of his hundred but is really struggling with cramp. He pokes the the ball into the off side and hobbles down the other end.

Is he thinking of coming off here?

He's undergoing some pretty intensive stretches and massages so we have a very slight delay in proceedings.

Temba Bavuma suffering from a bit of cramp so gets a drink brought one which draw a cursory word from the England players. "He's cramping, that's why" a South African voice snaps back.

Temba Bavuma is edging closer to three figures after he plonks Adil Rashid back over his head for a one-bounce four down the ground.

He then pulls a single to get to 94 off 86 balls.

Sam Curran is back into the attack as Jos Buttler looks for some variation. Curran has suncream liberally splattered on his face which hasn't really been rubbed in properly, reminiscent of an uncooperative toddler on the beach. Bit on his nose, bit on his ear, some on his cheek. You get the idea.

Anyway, he's round the wicket to Temba Bavuma but drifts on to the South Africa skipper's pads first ball and is feathered for four.

Three more singles taken from the remaining five balls.
