  1. SA 61-0published at 9.0 overs

Moeen Ali had Temba Bavuma caught in the first ODI attempting to hit down the ground, so there's a little more trepidation from the South Africa skipper to the England spinner.

Bavuma happy to just work the ball into the gaps at this stage. Plenty of encouragement from Jos Buttler behind the stumps.

Tidy start from Moeen with just three runs from the over.

  2. SA 57-0published at 8.0 overs

England are plugging away in the face of this aggressive strokeplay from the South African opening pair. Reece Topley hauls an over back for England, with just three runs from it as the left-arm seamer cleverly mixes up his pace.

Jos Buttler preparing to turn to spin with Moeen Ali warming up.

Quinton de Kock's injury does not seem to be impeding him too much, here, as he gets consecutive boundaries from three balls off Chris Woakes.

The South Africa opener starts with a pulled six. Woakes then drags it wider and is square driven, clinically, for four. De Kock goes for another pull and a top edge deflects off his back then runs away for four through fine leg.

  6. SA 39-0published at 6.0 overs

Temba Bavuma looks in great nick here.

He's on to the back foot to pull Reece Topley's fourth ball through mid-wicket for a sumptuous four. That shot was laced with poise and timing.

Three dots from Chris Woakes before he strays on to Temba Bavuma's midriff. The South Africa skipper adroitly flips it off his hips for four.

Fair to say conditions are significantly easier for batting now then when Jason Roy and Dawid Malan opened this morning when the ball was hooping round corners.

    SA 29-0published at 4.0 overs

Couple of glorious strokes from Temba Bavuma, who has 25 off 16.

First he wallops Reece Topley back over deep mid-on for six, then he deftly cover drives him for four next ball.

Early signs this could be bubble up into an exciting contest.

Conrad Davies: IF, and I mean if, Superman Ben makes himself available for the World Cup, as we all hope he does because a World Cup needs to showcase the best, then Buttler should open with JB.

  10. SA 18-0published at 3.0 overs

A fraction short from Chris Woakes and Temba Bavuma picks up the length to pull it for four. He did not strike it especially cleanly but there was enough of the bat on it. Woakes overpitches his next delivery Bavuma elegantly drives him straight down the ground. Back-to-back fours.

Quinton de Kock ends the over with an audacious ramp shot, but there's not quite enough pace on the ball for it to get to the boundary.

Reece Topley, with two slips in place, has found a bit of swing early on. He begins with three dots after some solid defence from the diminutive Temba Bavuma, who is keen to show the maker's name.

  12. SA 4-0published at 1.0 overs

Quinton de Kock looks a little tentative as he gets himself off the mark with a poke through the covers.

If you're just joining us, De Kock didn't keep for the majority of England's innings after suffering a thumb injury while wicketkeeping.

Respectable start by Chris Woakes with the ball. Reece Topley is limbering up at the other end.

Yes, Quinton de Kock is fit to open for South Africa. He and Temba Bavuma have just strolled out to the middle. Chris Woakes is at the top of his bowling mark.

Hard to disagree with that, Lydia.

Been great to see the emergence of Rwanda in this tournament giving the women's game a real global feel.

Meanwhile, we're almost ready to get back underway in Bloemfontein.

    Thanks, Anurag.

There definitely is a case for Jos Buttler to shuffle himself up the order in ODIs, but when he executes the 'finisher' role so well it definitely becomes harder to do so.
