  1. Aus 65-0published at 10 overs

    Target 288

Powerplay done and Australia are well on top.

England need a wicket but, in truth, they haven't really looked like getting one as yet.

  2. Aus 64-0published at 9.4 overs

Four more! Remarkable shot from Head, very wristy and it's almost a helicopter shot up and over extra cover.

It's been a brilliant opening stand so far. Olly Stone has looked good for England, though.

  4. Aus 60-0published at 9.2 overs

Pulled powerfully through square leg by Travis Head! It wasn't that short from Stone but the left-hander was onto it quickly and it flew past the fielder and away to the fence.

  5. Aus 55-0published at 9 overs

    Target 288

Solid start from Luke Wood, just four runs from his first over.

Australia don't need to force anything at the moment, they're in a strong position.

  6. Aus 51-0published at 8 overs

Australia deal in ones and twos throughout that Stone over. The fifty partnership has come up and it's all looking good for the home side.

England need a wicket from somewhere and here comes Luke Wood, on his ODI debut, to try and provide it...

The worm shows Australia are 18 runs ahead of England. Australia are 51 for 0 after 8 overs. At the same stage England were 33 for 3.

It caught him on the splice of the bat and that's the first ball we've seen misbehave all innings.

  8. Aus 48-0published at 7.4 overs

To quote Ricky Ponting - wowee! Stone gets the ball to pop from just back of a length and it flies off the shoulder of Warner's bat, hangs in the air for some time but lands safely.

Encouragement for England that there is still the odd one like that in this pitch.

James Gulleford: So poor from Willey, but why did Buttler not change the bowling? He’s going all round the park!

  10. Aus 44-0published at 7 overs

Good comeback from Willey, just three from the last five balls of the over.

He beats Warner on the outside edge and Buttler throws his head back behind the stumps. He knows how close that was to a nick.

  11. 6 runs

    Aus 41-0published at 6.1 overs

Audacious from David Warner! He is down on one knee and scoops Willey high over fine leg for a maximum.

The England left-armer has been expensive so far.

  12. Aus 35-0published at 6 overs

    Warner 15, Head 18

Just two scoring shots off Stone so far, a four and a six from Travis Head.

Australia are going along very nicely, though. England need to find a breakthrough quite soon.

The worm shows Australia are 12 runs ahead of England. Australia are 35 for 0 after 6 overs. At the same stage England were 23 for 2.

It never really bothered me batting at twilight. As long as you're hitting them well, it doesn't matter.

At the moment, England's 290 looks light.

  15. Aus 35-0published at 5.2 overs

Crunched! The merest hint of width from Stone and that is all Head needs to carve the ball through backward point for four.

With Aaron Finch no longer around and David Warner indicating he doesn't have much time left, it's a good chance for Travis Head to cement his place.

  17. Aus 31-0published at 5 overs

    Target 288

Not the prettiest of shots from Warner but it's effective enough. He muscles the last ball of Willey's over back down the ground and it bobbles away to the rope.

An over bookended by boundaries. Australia are starting to move.

David Warner has had a stellar career but with his age, I'm sure Australia have started thinking about who's coming next.

  19. Aus 25-0published at 4.1 overs

Wide half-volley from David Willey and David Warner punishes him. He hammers the ball over cover and away for four.

  20. Aus 19-0published at 4 overs

    Warner 6, Head 13

Another dot ball to finish. Stone can be very happy with the start he has made here.
