Finally a boundary. Mahmudullah cuts Rashid away for four.

  2. Ban 129-5published at 31 overs

    Mahmudullah 20, Afif 0

New batter Afif Hossain has yet to score despite facing 11 balls.

Moeen Ali's latest set goes for a single, a dab from Mahmudullah.

  3. Ban 128-5published at 30 overs

    Target 327

Another over goes by from Rashid, this time just a single comes off it.

The required-rate is now just a smidge below 10.

We had been having some technical issues with the worms today, but we've sorted it!

    Here's where we're at currently...

There was a very sharp rise for England. With Bangladesh already five down that is going to be difficult to replicate.

The worm shows Bangladesh are 20 runs behind England. Bangladesh are 127 for 5 after 29 overs. At the same stage England were 147 for 3.Image source, BBC Sport
  5. Ban 127-5published at 29 overs

Runs, precious runs for Bangladesh. Moeen shoots one down the leg side which keeper Jos Buttler can't get to and it ends up running away for four byes.

  6. Ban 123-5published at 28.2 overs

Afif Hossain is the new batter in with Moeen continuing with the ball.

It looks like Mark's getting his wish. Spinning is winning for England.

This is where I’d like England to show flexibility in their match plans. Bowl all 3 spinners out and take out 19 of the remaining 25 overs with Spin. Might need that kind of approach on a slow low turner at the World Cup.

    Is that the match already?

After a brilliant spell of pressure from England, Shakib Al Hasan gets impatient, trying to launch Adil Rashid down the ground.

But he doesn't get enough on it and ends up chipping the ball straight to Sam Curran at mid-off. He falls for 58 off 69.

  9. Ban 122-4published at 27.4 overs

A lack of intent and a lack of boundaries for the hosts.

Oh hang on, Mahmudullah swings at a wide loopy one but completely misses it. England are looking very comfortable.

England continue to rattle through the overs with Moeen Ali's latest going for four.

Bangladesh need exactly nine per over from here.

  11. Ban 116-4published at 26 overs

    Target 327

Change of live-texter almost delivers a wicket as Mahmudullah slashes at a skiddier one from Adil Rashid and edges the ball just out of the reach of a diving slip.

Next ball and Rashid gets plenty of turn, this time beating the bat.

  12. Postpublished at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2023

Haha thanks Sam. Bangladesh need more than 8.5 per over from here.

    It would be some chase.

  13. Postpublished at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2023

There is some suggestion that that was a five-ball over but I'm pretty sure I counted six...

Anyway, we're halfway through the innings so I'll hand you over to our expert finisher: Joe Rindl.

  14. Ban 109-4published at 25 overs

Frustration for Shakib as he struggles to get Moeen away. Just two singles from the over.

  15. Ban 107-4published at 24 overs

An expensive first over from Rashid as Shakib manages to get to grips with him early.

There was plenty of turn for the leggie, though, and it remains to be seen how well Mahmudullah and the other Bangladesh players pick him.

Shakib Al Hasan gets to his fifty with back-to-back boundaries off Rashid. A much-needed half-century for Bangladesh.

After going back to cut the first four, he drives powerfully though the covers for the next.

Shakib is going to have to be out there for the vast majority of this chase if the home side are to have any chance, you feel.

    Target 327

Moeen Ali's bowling: 17% full, 83% good length and 0% short. 3 overs, 1 maidens, went for 6 runs, took 1 wickets with an economy of 2.00.Image source, BBC Sport

Really good over from Moeen Ali, a maiden in which he gets a couple to turn big and a couple to slide on past the edge.

England have got a tight grip on this game and to make matters worse for Bangladesh, Adil Rashid is coming on to bowl.

  18. Ban 96-4published at 22 overs

    Target 327

Mahmudullah is able to start quickly, sweeping Jacks away for four.

Three further singles make it seven from the over. Better for Bangladesh but that required rate continues to climb and now stands at 8.25.

  19. Ban 89-4published at 21 overs

    Target 327

Moeen Ali will be very pleased with that over. Five runs from it but, crucially, a partnership of 79 has been broken.

Mahmudullah is the new batter for Bangladesh and will have to get up to speed quickly here.

    Tamim c Vince b Moeen 35 (Ban 88-4)

The run map shows Tamim Iqbal scored 35 with 4 fours, 2 twos, and 15 singles for BangladeshImage source, BBC Sport

Big cheers turn to silence as Tamim Iqbal holes out!

The Bangladesh pair sensed now was the time to go but in trying to do so, the partnership is broken.

A roar went up as Tamim charged Moeen and hit the ball high into Mirpur skies.

However, it didn't have the distance and James Vince gets under a steepler deep on the off side.
