    Worcs 61-4 v Glos 231

Not four in four - so Tom Price is mortal after all.

Matt Waite drives the ball down the ground for a fairly benign dot ball.

Two runs driven through the off side. Phew.

    A dramatic New Road over.

    Robinson c Cooke b Labuschagne 73 (Glamorgan v Durham 301-6)

Ollie Robinson's aggressive innings is over!

Marnus Labuschagne, coming round the wicket, spears one well outside off and Robinson is adjudged to have got a thin nick behind.

He is not convinced, but the Aussie star has picked up a second wicket with his off-spin.

He's done it! Four slips jump up in celebration as D'Oliveira is caught behind first ball!

Irresistible bowling with the batter trying to defend against a tight line on off stump.

What a talent this man is. A century and his second career hat trick on the same day!

Two more to Ollie Robinson and that is a second batting point for Durham.

    Worcs 59-3 v Glos 231

Jack Haynes bats next for the Pears, just past the milestone of 2,000 first-class runs going into this match.

Gone first ball! Haynes feathers the ball outside off with a crooked bat and is caught behind.

Tom Price is on a hat trick and it would be his second if he gets another with his next ball.

Brett D'Oliveira is the new batter.

There it is, the century for the Somerset skipper!

A 14th of his career and his first of the 2023 county season. After five last year, it underlines the fact that he is the glue of his side's batting.

This one has come off 203 balls with 13 fours and one six and saw him come in at 24-2.

    Well batted Captain Tom!

    Northants v Hants 257-2

Northants now have the new ball and they badly need wickets.

Nothing doing as James Vince finds the boundary off Ben Sanderson and advances into the 90s.

Only ones and twos off Jack White from the other end - but Hampshire have their first batting point and are looking good for more.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Azhar c Bracey b T Price 0published at 17:11 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Worcs 59-2 v Glos 231

Tom Price, our batting hero today is now into his second spell for the Gloucestershire attack.

His second ball squares Ali up and he edges to gloveman James Bracey for a four-ball duck.

  10. wicket

WICKET Libby lbw b Dale 27published at 17:05 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Worcs 58-1 v Glos 231

Huge appeal as Dale gets the ball to move into Libby from outside the off stump and keep a bit low.

Still 24 overs left in the day's play.

Azhar Ali is the Worcester number three.

for Oli Carterpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Sussex 259-5 v Yorks

Well batted Oli Carter, who reaches a 105-ball 50 with a single off Mickey Edwards. It has been a fine innings, firstly in support of Tom Alsop - who went straight after tea for 95 - and now in tandem with Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

    Kent v Essex 164-1

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

A disappointingly brief day here at Canterbury but Essex will be pleased to see their batters getting a good start after winning the toss.

Sir Alastair Cook looked like he might be making a bid for a Bazball England recall as he drove his way to 39 from 30 balls before becoming the only wicket to fall as Wes Agar claimed his first wicket for Kent.

Nick Browne has got starts in three of his four innings this season so his unbeaten half century will be a major boost while Tom Westley’s fluent 71 was full of trademark legside clips and cover drives.

The Kent attack struggled to make any real impression with conditions looking ripe to batting until the rain came.

  13. Batting point for Sussexpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Sussex 257-5 v Yorks

It's the start of a new Mickey Edwards over and Fynn Hudson-Prentice picks up four from his first delivery to earn Sussex their first batting point - and then adds another from the next as an exclamation point.

    Worcs 58-0 v Glos 231

Lovely shot by Libby, who cuts Dale through point on the up for four runs to move to 27.

Gloucestershire's 231 is indeed looking a little short.

Zafar has settled into a good rhythm at the other end with a tight line and good flight.

Pollock tries a reverse sweep but can't get the ball away. Maiden over.

    Somerset 230-4 v Lancashire

Tom Abell cuts one off Tom Hartley out into the deep and he picks up two more.

That brings up the 150 stand for the fifth wicket between him and James Rew.

This pair have batted so nicely in the Taunton sunshine.

  16. Postpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Middlesex v Notts 252-5

Sadly there's rain in the air and a thick covering of grey cloud hanging over the square at Lord's.

    Play seems unlikely.

Frustrating for both sides in a hard fought contest so far.

    Worcs 51-0 v Glos 231

Gloucestershire spinner Zafar Gohar is a touch short in his first over and Jake Libby slaps the ball through point for four.

That's the Worcestershire 50, coming in 88 balls.

    Somerset 221-4 v Lancashire

Quiet post-tea stuff so far at the County Ground, except for the hardy band of Exeter University students in the stands, creating their own atmosphere.

22 runs added by Tom Abell and James Rew in nine overs in this session.

  19. 'Stats should only be a guide'published at 16:52 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Northants v Hants 236-2

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Nick Gubbins and James Vince are piling on the agony for the home side after they were asked to bat first.

It must have been a tricky decision for Northants skipper Luke Procter this morning to ask Hants to bat. Stats at Wantage Road suggest you should bowl first.

Hampshire were considering batting first anyway but when the sun is out and the pitch looks good, as it has been today, then stats should only be a guide. Your gut feeling and experience should always be the deciding factor.
