He's then gifted four more off Podmore and then ends the over with a glorious on-drive for six.

Northants very much need him to be in this season, but Nick Gubbins square cuts for a couple and reached the 14th first-class hundred of his career from 206 balls faced.

It's been a patient, but quality, knock with very few false shots. Not Bazball, but just what Hampshire ordered.

Worcestershire have made a steady start to their innings after the Tom Price inspired fireworks for Gloucestershire earlier this afternoon, where he scored his first ever Championship century.

They're 200 behind on 31-0.

Glamorgan are gaining ground against Durham at Cardiff, where the visitors are 252-5.

It was a session that swung first the way of Yorkshire, when Pujara and Clark were dismissed, then back to Sussex with Alsop and Carter adding an undefeated 94 for the 5th wicket

Sussex supporters are so used to Pujara scoring hundreds at Hove that it was a surprise when he padded up to Jordan Thompson but having been reprieved by the umpire, there was no escape when he was trapped on the crease to the next delivery.

When Ben Coad uprooted Tom Clark's off stump Sussex looked in trouble, but Tom Alsop in his unflappable way eased them through the crisis, and is just five runs short of his ninth first class century at tea.

A reminder that Middlesex chose to field first after winning the toss this morning. Four wickets in the middle session of play has just about tilted the game their way for now - but Notts have plenty of batting left, starting with Ben Duckett and Steven Mullaney.

Duckett will face Roland-Jones under rather leaden-looking skies at St John's Wood.

Nick Gubbins clips Chris Tremain off his hip for a single and Hampshire reach 200. Gubbins is now 89 not out and James Vince has 69.

The final session begins with a wide delivery from Saqib Mahmood.

That brings up the 200 for Somerset. Of course under the new rules this season, they must reach 250 to pick up their first batting point.

Tremain then overpitches and Vince puts it away through mid-wicket for four as he progresses to 64 not out.
