    Worcs v Glos 133-8

Marchant de Lange is getting in on the act now - as he steps outside off and launches Joe Leach down the ground for a maximum.

Four more to Tom Price with a pull to square leg off Pennington.

    Somerset 130-4 v Lancashire

James Rew tickles one square and that single brings up the 50 partnership between him and Tom Abell.

From 24-3, this is a decent recovery from Somerset after being asked to bat first.

  3. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Middlesex v Notts 149-2

Bamber is bowling a full length and targeting the pads and timbers - but Duckett pounces on a little bit of width and cuts the bowler behind gully for four to move to 75.

Montgomery drives Bamber handsomely through the covers to take Notts to 149.

    Kent v Essex 159-1

It has suddenly become very gloomy in Canterbury and the players are coming off.

The weather blowing in from the Channel doesn't look too clever!

    Somerset 129-4 v Lancashire

Those boundaries from James Rew have seen off Jimmy Anderson after four expensive overs post-lunch.

Not too much let-up, however, as here comes Saqib Mahmood.

Nick Gubbins whips Chris Tremain away through the leg-side for his ninth boundary and brings up a 114-ball 50, a third of the season for the former Middlesex left-hander.

It also takes Gubbins' run-tally for the season past 200 and Hampshire would dearly love him to turn this into a century.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Scott Borthwickpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

The batsman runs a couple of leg byes of van der Gugten, who spears the ball into the pads.

That's the 100 partnership for the 2nd wicket in 156 balls.

He cuts David Lloyd down to third man for a single to reach his 50 off 96 balls.

The state of play at New Road and Cardiff...

A swashbuckling innings from Tom Price has taken Gloucestershire to three figures after a difficult start against Worcestershire - but the visitors remain precariously placed on 123-8.

Price has three fours and two sixes in his 39 not out.

Scott Borthwick (50 not out) and Michael Jones (54) not out have an unbeaten century partnership for Durham - who have reached 143-1 against hosts Glamorgan.

    Somerset 129-4 v Lancashire

Two fours in three balls for James Rew off Jimmy Anderson. One to tell the kids and grandchildren!

The first squirts down to the vacant third area, but the second is almost a flamboyant shot through midwicket as Anderson spears one in towards his pads.

Pujara lbw Thompson 18 (Sussex 123-3 v Yorks)

That's the big one for Yorkshire as Jordan Thompson's second appeal in as many balls is upheld by the umpire.

Two wickets now for the all-rounder as Tom Clark comes out to join Tom Alsop, who is on 36.

    Northants v Hants 107-2

Australia are really blessed with quality seam bowlers at the moment and Chris Tremain looks like he is one of them.

There is a boundary, though, for James Vince who runs the ball away to third man. No edge there, it was a deliberate stroke.

Vince is 19 not out and Nick Gubbins has 46.

    Kent v Essex 157-1

    Alex Hoad
    BBC Sport at Canterbury

It has to be said Essex look incredibly comfortable on a helpful track at Canterbury.

The only cloud on the horizon for Nick Browne and Tom Westley looks to literally be a big bank of angry-looking grey cloud which is inching closer from the direction of the English Channel.

The weather didn't come to Kent's aid on the final day in their draw at Edgbaston but might it stem the flow of Essex runs here this afternoon?

  15. wicket

WICKET Slater run out Roland-Jones 4published at 14:08 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Middlesex v Notts 133-2

    A desperately unlucky dismissal.

Ben Duckett drives the ball firmly back to the bowler, who misses the catch but deflects the ball into the stumps at the other end.

Slater is out of the crease and will be fuming all the way back to the pavilion.

The new batsman is Matthew Montgomery, playing his fifth game for Notts.

  16. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Somerset 114-4 v Lancashire

Tom Abell and James Rew have been positive since lunch.

They have not been afraid to get runs off Jimmy Anderson with 17 scored off his three overs since the interval.

  17. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Middlesex v Notts 133-1

A couple of appeals for LBW by Bamber against Ben Slater, with the second being particularly vocal.

    Just a bit too high.

  18. 50 runs

for Michael Jonespublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Glamorgan v Durham 135-1

It's a wide one from Harry Podmore, and Michael Jones cuts it away unerringly to bring up his half-century off 95 balls. The right-hander has now hit six fours in all and has added 95 in tandem with Scott Borthwick.

  19. 50 runs

for Nick Brownepublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 20 April 2023

    Kent v Essex 147-1

    Nick BrowneImage source, Rex Features

He has played second fiddle to both Sir Alastair Cook and Tom Westley, but there is a half-century for Nick Browne.

Nathan Gilchrist offers plenty of width and Browne crashes it through the covers for four.

It has come off 113 balls and is his first 50 since last July when he went on to score 234 not out against Somerset.
