After one over from Colin de Grandhomme, the players come together to bring this match to a conclusion.

The unbroken stand of 87 from Lewis Gregory and Kasey Aldridge leads Somerset to safety, with Aldridge ending with his best score of 57 not out.

Lancashire bowled well, but those three dropped chances off James Rew either side of lunch were the moments their chance of forcing a win started to ebb away.

Somerset take 10 points for the draw and Lancashire, 12.

Jimmy Anderson is hit through the covers for four more by Lewis Gregory.

And he is positively steaming as Kasey Aldridge gets a streaky boundary with an inside edge.

Anderson will be steaming about that one and he has a few words with both batters.

Somerset have seen off the first five overs with the new ball and we can't be far away from shaking hands.

    Cooke c Robinson b Raine 17 (Glamorgan 305 & 96-6 v Durham 471-9 dec)

Just four more wickets needed now by Durham as Dan Douthwaite walks out with Glamorgan still 70 behind.

Lyndon James is pitching it up and Holden is beaten outside off as the ball moves down the slope.

Just two runs off this over. Notts turn to the spin of Liam Patterson-White at the other end.

A maiden first class half-century for Kasey Aldridge!

He gets there with a lovely shot, moving across his stumps to whip one away through midwicket for four off Tom Bailey.

His previous best was 41, but he has batted Somerset to safety here.

The partnership with him and Lewis Gregory has been an invaluable 74.

    Sussex 361 & 137 v Yorkshire 298 & 138-3

The Yorkshire wait for a first Championship win since April 2022 goes on as the umpires decide play won't be possible at Hove.

They gave the groundstaff every chance, with the visitors needing just 63 for victory, but called the match off following a 4.30pm inspection.

    Somerset 441 & 239-6 v Lancashire

Gorgeous shot from Kasey Aldridge as he hits one on the up through the covers off Jimmy Anderson. He'll have enjoyed that shot.

Aldridge might well enjoy this one even more, as he gets up on the back foot and places it through the covers for four more.

Aldridge needs one more for a half century.

  10. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Middlesex 114-2 (Target 249) - 24 overs left

Middlesex are judging the singles very well here as even a gentle push to off is yielding a run.

Paterson appeals for LBW with his fourth ball but its very leg side and that's a leg bye.

The last ball is short and swung away to square leg for four by Holden.

  11. Postpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Glamorgan 305 & 89-5 v Durham 471-9 dec

Nice shot by Billy Root, who drives Paul Coughlin away for four, but has to take evasive action as the Durham all-rounder responds with a shorter, quicker delivery to end the over. Root has 18 and his side are 77 behind.

  12. Postpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Middlesex 105-2 (Target 249) - 25 overs left

James is very full here and Malan flicks the ball to deep mid wicket for one.

Notts on the defensive here. They need wickets.

Singles are fine for the hosts for now.

James drops short and a swipe in front of square brings two. The sun is shining and the outfield seems to be quickening, as only a sprint and a diving stop prevented the four.

  13. Postpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Somerset 441 & 228-6 v Lancashire 554

Lewis Gregory gets a single off the final ball of the first over with the new red cherry.

He now picks up the strike as Tom bailey shares new-ball duties.

  14. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Middlesex 100-2 (Target 249) - 26 overs left

Phew! Holden dives at full stretch as he nudges the ball to the on side and the return throw whistles in rapidly from square leg. A precious two runs.

This is hard work for Notts. Big LBW shout third ball as Malan drives and misses.

He was well forward, which may have been a factor - and that's a leg bye. Just outside the line?

A short ball is swatted to deep fine leg by Holden and that brings up the innings 100 in the 14th over.

  15. Postpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Glamorgan 305 & 79-5 v Durham 471-9 dec

A silly mid-off in place now for Chris Cooke, but he takes a single as Paul Coughlin tumbled to the ground in his follow-through.

Coughlin appeals for a leg-side catch by the keeper from the next one, but the umpire decides Billy Root did not make contact with bat or glove.

  16. Postpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Middlesex 93-2 (Target 249) - 27 overs left

Most of the Middlesex players are watching from the dressing room balcony.

Another yorker length delivery is dug out and deflected to mid on for one.

Holden drives on the off side and gets in inside edge through square leg for one more.

Come on, folks. Where's your money on this one?

    Glamorgan 305 & 78-5 v Durham 471-9 dec

There are some very menacing clouds gathering around Sophia Gardens as Billy Root steers Brydon Carse away for four runs.

That's a very good leave by Chris Cooke as a ball from Paul Coughlin just misses off stump. Coughlin responds with a short one and the Glamorgan keeper drops his hands and lets it hit him.

  19. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Middlesex 90-2 (Target 249) - 28 overs left

Stoneman made 43 off 32 so Notts will be mighty pleased to see te back of him.

Holden is off the mark in style with what looked like the gentlest of pushes through mid off for four.

Four more clipped through mid wicket as the ball just beats Mullaney.

Broad is out of the attack. Lyndon James is on.

  20. Somerset lead passes 100published at 16:30 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

Kasey Aldridge has taken a liking to Tom Hartley since tea.

There are more boundaries in this over, the first two from sweep shots. And then a bonus four from the final ball as Saqib Mahmood mis-fields one at mid-on.

13 comes off the over and Somerset now lead by 112 with less than 30 overs left in this game.
