Middlesex are still with the rate but Notts have slowed them down a bit.

A maiden first class half-century for Kasey Aldridge!

He gets there with a lovely shot, moving across his stumps to whip one away through midwicket for four off Tom Bailey.

His previous best was 41, but he has batted Somerset to safety here.

The partnership with him and Lewis Gregory has been an invaluable 74.

The Yorkshire wait for a first Championship win since April 2022 goes on as the umpires decide play won't be possible at Hove.

They gave the groundstaff every chance, with the visitors needing just 63 for victory, but called the match off following a 4.30pm inspection.

Adam Lyth ends the game 69 not out, with Shai Hope on 53 - their fourth-wicket stand was worth 99.

Gorgeous shot from Kasey Aldridge as he hits one on the up through the covers off Jimmy Anderson. He'll have enjoyed that shot.

Aldridge might well enjoy this one even more, as he gets up on the back foot and places it through the covers for four more.

Aldridge needs one more for a half century.

Middlesex are judging the singles very well here as even a gentle push to off is yielding a run.

Paterson appeals for LBW with his fourth ball but its very leg side and that's a leg bye.

The last ball is short and swung away to square leg for four by Holden.

Nice shot by Billy Root, who drives Paul Coughlin away for four, but has to take evasive action as the Durham all-rounder responds with a shorter, quicker delivery to end the over. Root has 18 and his side are 77 behind.

James is very full here and Malan flicks the ball to deep mid wicket for one.

Notts on the defensive here. They need wickets.

Singles are fine for the hosts for now.

Final throw of the dice for Lancashire as they take the new ball.

They need Jimmy Anderson to do something very special.

There are some very menacing clouds gathering around Sophia Gardens as Billy Root steers Brydon Carse away for four runs.

That's a very good leave by Chris Cooke as a ball from Paul Coughlin just misses off stump. Coughlin responds with a short one and the Glamorgan keeper drops his hands and lets it hit him.

Stoneman made 43 off 32 so Notts will be mighty pleased to see te back of him.

Holden is off the mark in style with what looked like the gentlest of pushes through mid off for four.

Four more clipped through mid wicket as the ball just beats Mullaney.

Broad is out of the attack. Lyndon James is on.

Kasey Aldridge has taken a liking to Tom Hartley since tea.
