    Middlesex 30-0 (Target 249) - 36 overs left

Middlesex have made their intentions clear. How will Notts respond?

Two slips in now - as Stoneman lofts Hutton through the "cow corner" region for four runs.

A short arm jab through mid wicket for a single. Eskinazi swings Hutton to mid wicket for one more.

Stoneman punches the last ball through mid wicket for four more! Not a bad ball, really.

Brilliant batting. Have you got plans this afternoon? Cancel them!

    Glamorgan 305 & 48-3 v Durham 471-9 dec

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

If the weather doesn't intervene once again we have 35 overs remaining in this match after tea and the hosts are three down after following on.

They got within 166 runs of Durham's first innings total when they were all out for 305. They had been 181-8 before Kiran Carlson and Timm Van Der Gugten added 110 runs, a record ninth-wicket stand for Glamorgan v Durham.

Carlson could have been out for a duck yesterday, but a ball which struck him in the chest and then hit the stump, failed to take the bail off. He eventually departed today for 119. It's the fourth game against Durham in which he's scored at least 50.

In the second innings, Eddie Byrom (9), Marnus Labuschagne (5) and Sam Northeast (4) have all gone cheaply.

  3. Glamorgan under pressure in Cardiffpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Somerset 441 & 197-6 v Lancashire 554 - tea

Kasey Aldridge gets a welcome four off George Balderson in the final over before tea and then Balderson spears one down the legside for four byes off the final ball.

Somerset reach tea six down with a lead of 84 but only four wickets left. However, there are only 36 overs left in the match.

They only managed 76 runs in the session, but they have eaten up 36 overs for Lancashire to bowl them out, making the draw the favourite result now.

    Middlesex 20-0 (Target 249) - 37 overs left

A fraction of width from Broad and Stoneman tries to force it square and gets a thick edge to third man for four.

A play and miss as the next ball takes off and seams away from the bat.

A play and miss as Stoneman tries to tickle a leg side ball. Good take by the keeper.

The fifth ball is hammered lustily down the ground for three.

    Glamorgan 305 & 47-3 v Durham 471-9 dec

Kiran Carlson drives the final ball of Ben Raine's over for four.

The Durham fielders race to the other end and the umpires decide that yes, we will have another over before tea,

    Paul Coughlin will bowl it.

    Somerset 441 & 189-6 v Lancashire 554

Stand-in captain Dane Vilas has ordered Saqib Mahmood into a bodyline burst at Kasey Aldridge, coming round the wicket at the right-hander.

And it almost works as Aldridge almost fends one into Vilas' hands at silly point.

    Middlesex 13-0 (Target 249)

Brett Hutton is on at the Nursery End to the left-handed Mark Stoneman, who played superbly in the first dig for his 76.

Stoneman is down the track driving Hutton for a couple in the off side.

Not out of the middle of the bat but the intent is clear.

The next ball is leg side and glanced fine for four. Middlesex are up for this.

    Northeast c Clark b Coughlin 4 (Glamorgan 305 & 40-3 v Durham 471-9 dec)

Would you believe it? Having made 119 earlier in the day, Kiran Carlson returns to the crease for Glamorgan with his side in danger of crumbling to defeat.

That was a good ball by Paul Coughlin which spat off a length at Sam Northeast and flew to Graham Clark at point.

The Welsh side need another 126 for parity.

    Middlesex 6-0 (Target 249)

Remember, limited overs field restrictions don't apply here.

Notts can shut up shop if there's a flurry of boundaries - and here's the first one as Eskinazi gets a bit of width and drives the ball through wide mid off for four.

Three slips in for Broad and Eskinazi drives again through off for two more. 6 off the over.

Nice shot from Kasey Aldridge as Saqib Mahmood drops short and he cuts it for four.

A reassuring boundary if you are a Somerset fan. The chances of a Lancashire win inch that little bit further away.

Tea is the next milestone for Aldridge and Lewis Gregory to reach.

Well, this could be interesting. 40 overs left.

Here comes Stephen Eskinazi and Mark Stoneman.

Stuart Broad will bowl from the Pavilion End to Eskinazi.

    Labuschagne c Lees b Coughlin 5 (Glamorgan 305 & 34-2 v Durham 471-9 dec)

Very interesting now at Sophia Gardens as Australia's number three goes cheaply.

That wasn't a stroke Marnus Labuschagne will be proud of, reaching for a wide delivery from Paul Coughlin and slicing it to gully.

There was no need to play at that one and Glamorgan are now effectively minus 132 for two.

George Balderson just nibbles one past Kasey Aldridge's edge. That was very close!

Aldridge then gets a single off the next ball to move to seven off 37 balls. Lewis Gregory is 19 not out off 49.

The lead is 71 and we have 39 overs left - although two would be lost for a change of innings.

  15. Latest from Worcesterpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Worcs 51-4 (target 301)

The covers are coming off at New Road - but how damp is the outfield? Worcestershire were very much on the back foot when the bad weather arrived and it will be the visitors who are the more eager to get back out there.

There will be an inspection at 4pm.

  16. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    Somerset 441 & 182-6 v Lancashire 554

Tom Hartley's long spell is over as George Balderson is thrown the ball.

Hartley's figures are 17-11-30-1, with the wicket of James Rew. He has certainly kept things tight.

    Maiden over from Balderson.

This partnership from Lewis Gregory and Kasey Aldridge is only worth 12, but they have eaten up almost nine overs of cricket.

Was that a chance? looked very like it. David Lloyd launches into a drive and stings the hand of Scott Borthwick at mid-on. Two runs.

    Middlesex 274 & 0-0 v Notts 364 & 158-6 (Target 249)

Bold move by Notts - but this is their best and really only shot at forcing a result.

The chase begins shortly - weather permitting.

Early tea is being taken now - and if there's no more rain or bad light, we'll have 40 overs in the day's play.

Even an hour of play might be enough.

    Byrom lbw Raine 19-1 (Glamorgan 305 & 19-1 v Durham 471-9 dec)

Got him - Eddie Byrom walks across his stumps and is trapped leg before by Ben Raine. Glamorgan need another 147 to clear the arrears after following on. Marnus Labuschagne is in at three - if there is a man for this particular salvage job, surely it's him.
