    WICKET - Worrall c Hasan Ali b Hannon-Dalby 0published at 16:33 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 141, Surrey 281 & 2-1

Surfrey opt to open with Tom Lawes and Dan Worrall as makeshift opening batters to get the job done quickly - and it doesn’t work out as planned.

    Worrall holes out third ball.

Surrey skipper Rory Burns now walks to the middle, hoping to get the job done a little more professionally.

11 needed at the start of the over. Nine more runs needed. Nine wickets in hand now.

Rob Yates to bowl the second over.

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Just as this game seemed to be heading towards a draw Sussex take three wickets for just six runs and the contest is turned on its head

A quite brilliant run-out by Tom Clarke dismissed Marcus Harris for 37, then James Bracey and skipper Graeme Van Buuren were out in successive balls.

It means the Australian will be on a hat-trick straight after tea.

  4. wicket

WARWICKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 141published at 16:13 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 141, Surrey 281

A run-out mix-up to end the Warwickshire innings. Incredible.

Ryan Patel swoops to leave Chris Rushworth short of his ground on 22.

Another red-inker in the book though for one of cricket's greatest and most popular number 11s, Oliver Hannon-Dalby

Surrey now need just 11 to win.

    A 10-minute break first though.

  5. Tea at Lord'spublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 & 61-1 v Kent 186 & 128 (Middlesex require 25 runs)

Sam Robson (29*) and Pieter Malan (11*) are coasting towards the finish line.

The duo will come back after the break needing only 25 runs to seal victory.

  6. Tea at Bristolpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Sussex 455-5 dec, Gloucestershire 105-4

Nathan McAndrew will have to wait until after tea to see if he can grab a hat-trick as the interval is called after 38.2 overs!

He's made a mightily important intervention just before the break, taking out James Bracey and Graeme van Buuren.

The hosts have lost three wickets in 13 balls after Marcus Harris was run out in the 37th over.

On such moments are games won and lost.

  7. Double blow for Gloucestershirepublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Sussex 455-5 dec, Gloucestershire 105-4

We said it was a crucial time in this game as we approach tea... and so it has proven as Sussex take two wickets in two balls!

Nathan McAndrew is the man who has done the damage, trapping James Bracey lbw for 22 before sending before sending new batter Graeme van Buuren on his way first ball.

That puts a very different complexion on the scoreline as not too long ago Gloucestershire had only lost one wicket and had tea in sight.

  8. wicket

    WICKET - Barnard c Foakes b Worrall 49published at 16:00 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 131-9, Surrey 281

Ed Barnard goes just one run short of what would have been the 26th half-century of his first-class career - but the former Pear‘s first for the Bears.

A stout two hours of defiance. An unusually low number of boundaries (just six) and then he has a nibble at one down the legside from Dan Worrall.

    Rough luck.

Chris Rushworth is joined by the Bears last man, OHD.

Scores remain level. Despite the light, this should still be over tonight.

  9. Surrey must bat againpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 131-8, Surrey 281

Scores are level again at Edgbaston.

Chris Rushworths two boundaries off Kemar Roach did the job, also moving him into double figures - but the end is surely still nigh here.

  10. 100 runs

up for Gloucestershirepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Sussex 455-5 dec, Gloucestershire 104-2

Gloucestershire pass up and over 100 runs in their first innings but they have lost both openers.

Chris Dent went earlier on for 32 and Marcus Harris (37) has just joined him in the pavilion after being run out.

It's James Bracey and Miles Hammond out in the middle as we approach tea.

    Crucial time.

  11. Postpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 & 46-1 v Kent 186 & 128 (Middlesex require 40 runs)

Matthew Quinn may have taken the only Middlesex wicket so far, but that's an expensive over, with 16 runs coming from it.

Pieter Malan sends him for six and four in consecutive balls, after Sam Robson had also hit the boundary rope.

Middlesex only need 40 runs now.

  12. wicket

WICKET - Hasan Ali b Roach 15published at 15:37 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 107-8, Surrey 281

Hasan Ali‘s defiant 51-minute show of resitance ends as he is bowled by Kemar Roach, who competes a fine five-fer.

Chris Rushworth comes in with 24 still needed to make Surrey bat again.

Ed Barnard is the Bears‘ only hope on 39

  13. wicket

WICKET Stoneman c Compton b Quinn 13published at 15:35 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 & 29-1 v Kent 186 & 128 (Middlesex require 57 runs)

    Now there is some joy!

Mark Stoneman is caught by Ben Compton at extra cover off Matthew Quinn's bowling and Kent have the first Middlesex batter down.

  14. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 & 29-0 v Kent 186 & 128 (Middlesex require 57 runs)

Still no joy for the Kent bowlers at Lord's.

Sam Robson and Mark Stoneman are taking their time and being patient, there's no rush.

Robson hits the first boundary for some time and adds another three to make it seven from the 11th over.

  15. 100 runs

Hundred up for Bearspublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 107-7, Surrey 281

Ed Barnard is starting to show his worth for the Bears.

From seemingly the brink of defeat, he and Hasan Ali have put on 38 to take Warwickshire within 24 of the Surrey score.

Maybe Surrey might have to bat again in this game - but it still seems likely to end tonight.

Its getting darker though, the floodlights are on - and the groundstaff are hovering. It being a lot less bother, if you hover, of course.

  16. 50 runs

for Michael Neserpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Leicestershire 407 v Glamorgan 342-7

Australian Michael Neser joins his batting partner Chris Cooke in the half-century club.

Neser's 50 came from 95 balls and he made it there with a boundary - one of seven in his innings.

The duo continue to frustrate the home bowlers as Glamorgan now move to within 65 runs of the Leicestershire total.

  17. Century stand for Cooke and Neserpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Leicestershire 407 v Glamorgan 338-7

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan avoided the follow-on just after lunch - and Chris Cooke and Michael Neser have now both gone past 50 in a century stand.

But they were made to work hard for their runs either side of lunch.

Leicestershire’s seamers have bowled more accurately on the whole than Glamorgan’s, with left-armer Mike Finan getting lots of swing early on- although it was one of his less threatening deliveries that saw last year’s record-breaker Sam Northeast caught behind for 40.

With extra time again being added tonight, there is plenty of time for this match to spark into life after a placid time on the scoreboard so far.

  18. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 & 15-0 v Kent 186 & 128 (Middlesex require 71 runs)

Sam Robson and Mark Stoneman have made a good start at Lord's as Middlesex look to close out the win with a minimum of fuss.

Kent's collapse has made this something of a formality but they still have pride to play for.

  19. wicket

DURHAM BEAT DERBYSHIRE BY AN INNINGS & 7 RUNSpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Durham 452-9 dec, Derbyshire 165 & 280

Matty Potts takes three wickets in six balls - and Derbyshire‘s resistance comes to a very sudden end at Chester-le-Street.

After starting the day on 92-5, then reaching lunch unbreached, Matt Lamb and Luis Reece lasted a further half hour to take their stand to 149.

But the visitors folded from the moment that Lamb was out for 99, leg before wicket to Ben Raine.

England paceman Potts then got involved, bowling Zak Chappell before removing Mark Watt, Sam Conners and Ben Aitchison in short order to finish with 5-65.

  20. 50 runs

for Chris Cookepublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Leicestershire 407 v Glamorgan 315-7

A half-century for Chris Cooke whose partnership with Michael Neser is frustrating the home bowlers in Leicester.

After losing Timm van der Gugten and Sam Northeast early on, Glamorgan have settled nicely, with Cooke leading the way.

Neser is approaching 50 too - he's on 39 not out as it stands.
