    WICKET - Woakes b Clark 13published at 14:46 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 69-7, Surrey 281

Jordan Clark clean bowls Chris Woakes, knocking his off stump out of the ground.

Hasan Ali comes in on a King Pair - and survives it!

How much longer the Bears will survive this afternoon is quite another matter.

  2. 'Murtagh's perfect 10'published at 14:46 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 128

    Alex Hoad
    BBC Radio Kent at Lord's

We'd all just got over the Millennium bug when Tim Murtagh played first-class cricket for the first time.

He's just come within a whisker of his best bowling figures in the 23 years he's played.

His 6-42 makes it the fifth 10-wicket haul of his career. He bowled superbly.

    Wes Agar (11*) was Kent's third-top scorer.

Last man Michael Hogan (8) was fourth.

    That tells the story.

Of their total of 128, 48 came from Jack Leaning and 38 from Ben Compton.

Middlesex need 86 to win and make it back-to-back Division One wins.

  3. KENT ALL OUT FOR 128published at 14:38 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 128 (Kent lead by 85 runs)

All over for Kent who have been skittled by Middlesex after lunch.

Wes Agar and Michael Hogan had a swing for the last wicket and hit Tim Murtagh for six towards the end of the innings.

Hogan was the last man out, with John Simpson taking the catch from Tom Helm's bowling.

Middlesex will head back out shortly and require only 86 runs to wrap up the win well inside three days.

    Durham 452-9 dec, Derbyshire 165 & 251-7 (trailing by 36 runs)

Derbyshire not giving up with a fight, as Luis Reece goes to his half-century.

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 110-9 (Kent lead by 67 runs)

    Tim MurtaghImage source, Rex Features

Tim Murtagh has taken 10 wickets in this game and that means he now has 1,000 wickets for Middlesex across all formats of the game.

What an achievement from the 41-year-old.

His figures in this game are 4-40 in the first innings and 6-27 in the second.

He has 15 in this County Championship campaign.

  6. wicket

    WICKET - Chappell b Potts 2published at 14:30 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Durham 452-9 dec, Derbyshire 165 & 247-7 (trailing by 42 runs)

With the Durham breakthrough made, as so often happens, they get another one.

Just three overs later, Matty Potts bowls Zak Chappell and suddenly Derbyshire are in big danger again of losing this game today - and probably in this session.

The new man in to join Luis Reece is Ben Watt.

  7. wicket

WICKET - Lamb lbw b Raine 99published at 14:28 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Durham 452-9 dec, Derbyshire 165 & 240-6 (trailing by 47 runs)

Matt Lamb had batted, putting on 149 runs with Luis Reece for Derbyshire's sixth wicket. It was a flawless innings.

But he was on 99 when he decided to step down the wicket to Ben Raine and was trapped LBW - the breakthrough Durham have been looking for, on an otherwise lacklustre day with the ball.

When Lamb joined Reece in the middle last night Derbyshire, following on, were 91-5 and trailing Durham by 196.

I don't think many people would have imagined last night the first wicket today would not come until half an hour after lunch.

However it remains very gloomy, even with the lights on and that could be an issue for Durham this afternoon.

Derbyshire need someone to hang around with Reece, who is on 45.

  8. wicket

WICKET Quinn lbw Murtagh 0published at 14:23 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 109-9 (Kent lead by 66 runs)

Another one for Tim Murtagh and another one for Middlesex!

Wow, the wheels have completely fallen off for Kent now!

They have lost three wickets in the space of 11 balls without scoring a run.

    A devastating spell from Murtagh!

Matthew Quinn lasted only four balls and is another to depart without scoring.

  9. wicket

WICKET Stewart c Simpson b Bamber 0published at 14:16 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 109-8 (Kent lead by 66 runs)

Kent's batters are dropping like flies now as Ethan Bamber removes Grant Stewart, who departs without scoring.

Two wickets in two balls - the last ball of the 52nd over and the first of the 53rd - have left Kent on the ropes.

Just two wickets left for Middlesex now who have struck with quickfire wickets before and after the lunch break to take firm control.

  10. wicket

WICKET Evison b Murtagh 7published at 14:15 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 109-7 (Kent lead by 66 runs)

It gets better for Tim Murtagh who now has five wickets after bowling Joey Evison.

That's nine for the match for Murtagh.

And there's more bad news on the way for Kent...

  11. wicket

    WICKET - Burgess c Foakes b Roach 3published at 14:14 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 39-6, Surrey 281

Warwickshire are on the ropes in front of their own supporters here in the head-on meeting of the 2021 and 2022 county champions.

Michael Burgess cannot resist going for his shots - and edges to Ben Foakes to give Kemar Roach his fourth wicket.

    Roach‘s figures read well . . . 7-3-15-4

And that after taking 3-33 in the first innings.

England all-rounder Chris Woakes comes in to join the Bears‘ newly acquired England Lions all-rounder Ed Barnard.

A lot now resting on this pair.

  12. wicket

WICKET Compton c Higgins b Murtagh 38published at 14:03 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229 v Kent 186 & 104-6 (Kent lead by 61 runs)

Tim Murtagh is having an absolute stormer!

The veteran took four wickets in the first innings and he's matched that total in the second with the prize wicket of Ben Compton.

Murtagh struck shortly after the resumption with the final ball of the 50th over to remove opener Compton who scored 38 from 138 balls.

Kent lead by 61 but are running out of batters.

  13. wicket

    WICKET - Mousley c Sibley b Worrall 8published at 14:00 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 34-5, Surrey 281

This is not looking good for Warwickshire.

Dan Mousley is tempted to haved a go at a Dan Worrall outswinger and is snapped up by Bears old boy Dom Sibley at slip.

Poor shot - and, judging by his own reaction, he knows it.

Michael Burgess comes in on a pair.

What a waste. After an almost unremittingly horrible April, the sun is out in Birmingham - and, at this current rate of wicket-taking (five in eight overs), the home spectators are going to be deprived of a day and a half of cricket.

  14. Back underway at Edgbastonpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 26-4, Surrey 281

Back underway in Birmingham - and Ed Barnard gets off the mark with a boundary through third man.

  16. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Middlesex 229, Kent 186 & 99-5

    Alex Hoad
    BBC Sport at Canterbury

In the space of nine minutes at Lord's it's gone from being a fairly even morning to being Middlesex's.

After Jordan Cox's departure, losing skipper Sam Billings for no score with the final ball of the first session will be a huge blow to Kent's hopes of saving the game.

That's now 47 runs across five innings for Billings, who showed his commitment to Kent's season by forsaking an IPL appearance this spring.

Losing Jack Leaning for 48 hurt Kent's hopes, although Ben Compton remains resolute.#

But it is a lead of just 56 and, with Tim Murtagh, Ethan Bamber and Tom Helm, in particular, impressing with the ball, Kent's middle and lower order need to step up this afternoon in the hope of at least taking the game to a fourth day.

  17. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Durham 452-9 dec, Derbyshire 165 & 218-5

A superb morning for Derbyshire and a hugely disappointing session for Durham.

Derbyshire looked on the brink as they resumed on 92-5, still needing 195 to make the hosts bat a second time.

But the home attack which took 15 wickets on day three has gone wicketless under the floodlights in gloomy conditions.

Matt Lamb has countered superbly, hitting three sixes to race to an unbeaten 87, while Luis Reece has been the anchor at the other end on 36.

Derbyshire have reduced the deficit to 69 and the interval has come at the right time for the home attack to recharge and refresh.

Durham are still well on top, despite the 127-run stand, but will want to nip this in the bud pronto after the interval.

  18. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Sussex 455-5 dec, Gloucestershire 18-0

Gloucestershire make it to lunch with all their wickets intact.

Openers Marcus Harris and Chris Dent have seven runs apiece.

Earlier, Sussex declared on 455-5 after piling on the runs in the morning session.

Cheteshwar Pujara starred with 151 and Oli Carter finished on an unbeaten 59 to give them a big advantage.

  19. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 & 22-4, Surrey 281

Warwickshire go to lunch trailing reigning champions Surrey by 109 runs.

With only six wickets remaining - and all their top four gone - the Bears will do well to make this game last the day.

  20. Lunch at Leicesterpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Leicestershire 407 v Glamorgan 256-7

Glamorgan lost a couple of wickets this morning but steadied things up before the lunch break.

Chris Cooke and Michael Neser have been watchful and will head back into the middle after lunch with their side 151 runs behind.
