    Notts 96-6 (target 295) v Lancs

It looked as though there was only one possible outcome when Lancashire reduced their hosts to 55-6 - but they've made no headway in the 10 overs since tea.

Joe Clarke and Brett Hutton are doing a fine job for Nottinghamshire and they've added 40 so far - although it's all about using up time now for the home side.

Still 28 overs to be bowled, so the Red Rose won't be panicking just yet.

He has moved on to 45, and alongside Sam Whiteman, Taylor is batting Northants towards a position of safety.

    That's the one Essex wanted.

Ollie Pope tries to drive Shane Snater but the ball bounces more than he expected and he splices a catch to Nick Browne at point.

Surrey still have batting quality available, though, and Will Jacks is next man in.

    Worcs 264 & 202-7 v Sussex 373

Ollie Robinson's best match figures in first-class cricket are 14-135.

Those might be under threat now because the Sussex seamer has six in this innings and 13 in the match.

Matthew Waite is his latest victim, nibbling outside off stump for Tom Alsop to gather at first slip.

Two successive fours to third man for Chris Wright off Sam Conners.

The first was an edge, but the second deliberately deflected off the face of the bat.

Another 21 needed to make Derbyshire bat again.

So close. Ollie Pope again attacks the first ball of an over - this one from Shane Snater - and the ball only just clears the fingers of Jamie Porter on its way to the boundary. Pope is now 44 not out.

Simon Harmer’s stunning one handed catch at second slip to remove Rory Burns on the stroke of tea has given Essex a huge boost.

The game is beautifully poised with the winner set to be top of the Championship this evening.

Ollie Pope has looked in great touch again and has just struck a magnificent six off Doug Bracewell. He has now been joined by Jamie Smith and there’s plenty of batting to come but Simon Harmer with the ball is still to come into the equation.

The Essex second innings was a bits and pieces affair where no-one got on top of the Surrey attack for long. But did they do just enough?

Chris Wright isn't willing to let Mark Watt just wheel away without offering anything in return.

He takes two steps forward and lofts the spinner away for a handsome six. Leicestershire are now 29 behind.

    Worcs 264 & 196-6 v Sussex 373

Is there still time for Sussex to win this?

Ollie Robinson - as he so often does - has given them renewed hope with a ball that Gareth Roderick could only fend to second slip, where Steve Smith scoops it up low down.

Matthew Waite comes to the crease to join Azhar Ali with the Pears 87 ahead and 34 overs left. New ball available after five of those...

Sam Conners tries his luck from round the wicket to Peter Handscomb and the right-handed Australian simply shuffles across his stumps and deflects it fine for four.

The over ends with a square cut by Handscomb for another boundary. He is 35 not out, which is one fewer than the number of runs left for Leicestershire to avoid an innings loss.

A little sign of frustration from James Anderson, who kicks the turf after an over that Brett Hutton handled without any trouble in this post-tea session.

Hutton even took a boundary off England's record Test wicket-taker to move up to 11 not out, while Joe Clarke is on 15.

A possible 36 overs for Notts to survive, four wickets for Lancashire to capture.

A bit of luck for Ollie Pope as a sharply rising ball from Shane Snater flicks off the glove and flashes past a despairing Sir Alastair Cook diving across at first slip.

It brings the England batter a boundary and he moves to 32 not out.

    Yorks 106 & 240-2 v Glamorgan 245 & 352-4 dec - tea

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

A second successive session that went Yorkshire’s way gives them hope of getting out of this match with what 24 hours ago had looked an improbable draw.

Adam Lyth continued his first session form with some delightful strokes in the sunshine and had made it to 135 not out by the break.

Having lost Finlay Bean with the final ball of the morning, Yorkshire’s only loss of the afternoon was star man Jonny Bairstow, whose comeback with the bat yielded 20 not out first time around and then a nine-ball duck, having been promoted to number three, second time.

Bairstow edged a Van der Gugten delivery to Marnus Labuschagne at second slip and it was left to George Hill to get himself in and then go on to hit nine boundaries in his 59 not out by the break.

Yorkshire need a further 252 runs to win from 38 overs, Glamorgan eight wickets if they are to prevail, although the draw remains very much the favourite.

Sussex will still have hopes of winning this game with Worcesteshire effectively 78-5 at tea and 38 overs left in the day

The new ball, which is available in nine overs time could yet prove decisive, particularly if Ollie Robinson, who has taken 11 wickets in the match, can conjure up some more magic

However Azhar Ali may hold the key. He’s faced 202 balls and batted for over four hours to steer Worcester towards a draw, but at tea he still has some more work to do
