    Breaking

    Hampshire 229 & 97 v Warwickshire 410-8 dec

A rush of blood by Mohammad Abbas and he is stumped off spinner Danny Briggs for nine as Warwickshire wrap up an impressive second victory of the season.

Skipper James Vince is left unbeaten on 52, having earlier seen six partners come and go before he had scored.

Warwickshire added 46 to their overnight 364-5 before declaring, with Ed Barnard falling five runs short of a hundred.

But their star of the show was seamer Chris Rushworth, whose 7-38 gave him match figures of 10-76.

  2. 50 runs

for James Vincepublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Hants 229 & 97-9 v Warks 410-8 dec

One of his most unlikely half-centuries, perhaps, given the situation when he was joined by last man Mo Abbas, but James Vince reaches it off 83 balls with a sublime cover drive for four off Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

The wicket is now offering very little to the Warwickshire attack so it's a case of being patient and teasing out this final wicket.

    Essex 314 & 198 v Surrey 240 & 0-0

So Surrey will have 54 overs to try and score 273 for victory - that's a rate of 5.05 per over. By no means unachievable.

Jamie Porter begins the opening over of their chase bowling to Rory Burns.

    Notts 49-2 (target 295) v Lancs

Lancashire have pegged their hosts back in terms of scoring, with medium-pacer George Balderson sending down a maiden to start and Will Williams going for just a single in the next.

Matthew Montgomery's on 28, with Ben Slater scoring just eight so far from 35 balls. Notts need 246 from 52 overs, so plenty of time.

WICKET Hose lbw b Robinson 41published at 14:27 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Worcs 264 & 142-4 v Sussex 373

When Sussex need a wicket, they send for Ollie Robinson.

That move bears fruit immediately as Robinson picks up his fourth wicket - and 11th of the match - by pinning Adam Hose in front of his stumps.

It's the breakthrough the visitors needed and, with Worcestershire only 33 ahead, they might just see a path to victory here.
