    Derbys 350-7 dec v Leics 122 & 181-7

Suddenly it's all going Derbyshire's way again as Sam Conners knocks out Tom Scriven's middle stump with the final ball before tea.

The home side need another three wickets for an innings win, with Leicestershire still 47 short of clearing their deficit.

They have lost their last four wickets for 11 runs following an earlier stand of 113 between Rishi Patel (58) and Lewis Hill (63).

  2. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Somerset 412 v Northants 255 & 254-7

Northants make it to tea without losing any further wickets, leading by 97 runs.

Sam Whiteman is the key wicket - he is unbeaten on 107, while Tom Taylor has 28.

Can they resist the Somerset victory charge after tea?

  3. Tea at New Roadpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Worcs 264 & 187-5 v Sussex 373

Azhar Ali continues to defy Sussex on the final day, having batted four and a half hours for his 71 not out.

Azhar's efforts mean Worcestershire go into the final session with a 78-run advantage and five wickets standing. Ollie Robinson has four of the five Pears wickets to fall - and 11 in the match so far.

  4. Tea at Headingleypublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Yorks 240-2 (target 492) v Glamorgan

George Hill sees off the remainder of Marnus Labuschagne's over, and he and Adam Lyth head off for a well-earned cup of tea.

  5. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Notts 74-6 (target 295) v Lancs

Lancashire will be confident of forcing victory in the final session after reducing their hosts to 74-6, chasing a notional target of 295.

George Balderson picked up three quick wickets, with Tom Bailey, James Anderson and Will Wiliams claiming one apiece.

Joe Clarke, unbeaten on 12, is Notts' last remaining batting specialist, with Brett Hutton alongside him on six - and a possible 38 overs still to survive.

  6. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Essex 314 & 198 v Surrey 240 & 39-2

    Brilliant catch.

Doug Bracewell removes Surrey skipper Rory Burns with the final ball before tea as Simon Harmer grabs it one-handed leaping to his left from second slip.

Tea will certainly taste all the better now for Essex, who set Surrey a target of 273 from 54 overs.

There are the final two balls of Bracewell's over and 40 more to come.

  7. 50 runs

for George Hillpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Yorks 240-2 (target 492) v Glamorgan

George Hill whacks Marnus Labuschagne for successive boundaries to move past 50.

He's supported Adam Lyth superbly this afternoon, and the pair have upped the rate significantly in the last few minutes.

The third and fourth balls of the over also go to the boundary, as Labuschagne drops short.

  8. wicket

WICKET Ahmed b Watt 1published at 15:39 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Derbys 350-7 dec v Leics 122 & 172-6

A big error of judgment by Rehan Ahmed, who comes down the pitch to spinner Mark Watt and effectively yorks himself.

Leicestershire are 56 behind as Tom Scriven comes out to join Peter Handscomb.

  9. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Surrey 32-1 - target 273

A double change by Essex as Shane Snater and Doug Bracewell take up the attack.

Ollie Pope is looking good and lifts Bracewell's second delivery over mid-on as he moves to 23 not out.

  10. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Notts 65-6 (target 295) v Lancs

Notts have at least halted the collapse, with Brett Hutton joining Joe Clarke at the wicket and caressing a rare boundary through extra cover off George Balderson.

Even so, there are 41 overs remaining so it looks a steep task - to say the least - for the home side to deny Lancashire their first win of the season.

  11. wicket

WICKET Mulder b Watt 7published at 15:28 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Derbys 350-7 dec v Leics 122 & 170-5

Wiaan Mulder goes back to try and cut but it's an arm ball from Mark Watt which follows and bowls him via the inside edge.

Leicestershire need 58 more to avoid an innings defeat as Rehan Ahmed comes out to bat.

  12. ouch!

Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Surrey 23-1 - target 273

Ollie Pope tries to pull a ball from Jamie Porter but gets an under-edge and is struck in what we will call - as it is Coronation weekend - the crown jewels.

That, though, is what 'abdominal protectors' are for and Pope continues following a few deep breaths.

    WICKET D'Oliveira c Carter b Hudson-Prentice 22published at 15:21 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Worcs 264 & 179-5 v Sussex 373

Sussex haven't given this one up as a draw yet, that's for sure.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has just made the breakthrough with a ball that takes the edge of Brett D'Oliveira's bat and Oli Carter does the honours.

Much resting on Azhar Ali, who's still there on 66, if Worcestershire are to battle to safety. They lead by 70, with five wickets standing.

  14. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Derbys 350-7 dec v Leics 122 & 166-4

The Australian is 13 not out and Wiaan Mulder has five. Leicestershire now 62 behind.

  15. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Surrey 22-1 - target 273

Sam Cook overpitches and Rory Burns clips it away wide of mid-on for his second boundary. Another 251 required from 46 overs.

  16. 100 runs

for Sam Whitemanpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Somerset 412 v Northants 255 & 219-7

Just before that seventh Northants' wicket, Sam Whiteman brought up a wonderful hundred.

He's had wickets tumbling all around him, but has stood firm and played magnificently.

His side would be in a whole heap of bother without him.

Five ball duck for Harry Gouldstone, and Somerset are cock-a-hoop!

Northants are seven down, only leading by 62.

  18. Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Worcs 264 & 178-4 v Sussex 373

Still work for Worcestershire to do, but they're gradually building a useful lead against Sussex, led by Azhar Ali's 66 not out.

Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira has joined Azhar and is currently unbeaten on 22. Their advantage is 69 but there are still another 45 overs to be bowled.

  19. 6 runs

Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Yorks 196-2 (target 492) v Glamorgan

Adam Lyth takes a fancy to the off-spin of Andrew Salter, powerfully sweeping to midwicket before lofting a mighty six down the ground to end the over.

    He looks completely at ease.

    Notts 55-6 (target 295) v Lancs

What a spell this has been by George Balderson!

The Lancashire youngster is surely bowling his side towards victory at Trent Bridge, with three wickets in next to no time.

Notts skipper Steven Mullaney is the latest to depart, caught in the slips. His side have now lost four wickets for three runs...
