    Durham 240-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Jordan Thompson just about fine to go again.

Ben Raine glances his second ball wide of third man for two.

    Target down into single figures.

Then Raine pushes wide of deep cover for another couple.

A single final ball and Raine will keep the strike

One hit will do it now - Durham almost there.

  2. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Durham 235-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

This is now getting desperate for Yorkshire.

    Matt Fisher again.

Ben Raine takes a single. Matty Potts flicks to midwicket where there's a good diving stop.

Then he almost nicks a short one behind but survives.

    11 needed.

  3. 50 runs

for Tom Lammonbypublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 131-3

Nice way to bring up the fifty.

Tom Lammonby flicks Saqib Mahmood off his hip down to the fine leg boundary to bring up his second Championship fifty of the season.

The opener’s sixth career first-class half-century comes off 94 balls.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is looking to play the aggressor role at the other end in a bid for quick runs to set up a possible victory charge.

Looking unlikely at the moment, though.

  4. Durham need 12 to winpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Durham 234-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

    Oh no he isn't!

After some work from the physio, Jordan Thompson tries to carry on.

Two balls later he goes for four more!

Ben Raine flicks a ball too straight wide of long leg.

Two more singles either side of the boundary and Durham need only 12 more now.

  5. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Kent 95 & 82-0 v Hampshire 373

    Almost an early breakthrough!

Mohammad Abbas finds Ben Compton's outside edge but it falls agonisingly short of Liam Dawson at second slip.

The Pakistan bowler then finds some rare bounce in this pitch and takes Zak Crawley by surprise.

  6. Postpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Durham 228-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Jordan Thompson is a man who can change games.

He's quickly introduced to replace George Hill.

But he goes too full and gets beautifully driven straight for four!

    Gorgeous timing from Matty Potts.

    Target down to 18 now.

And it looks like Thompson has injured himself trying to dive and field that drive! He's going off.

  7. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Kent 95 & 81-0 v Hampshire 373

A solid start to the morning for the Kent openers.

England batter Zak Crawley takes two boundaries off a Kyle Abbott over to move to 43 while Ben Compton has 33.

Hampshire are going to have to work hard to winkle out 10 wickets today and wrap up an innings win. Kent trail by 197.

  8. Postpublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Durham 224-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Matt Fisher sends down a maiden.

    Can Yorkshire build some pressure?

    Only 21 to defend.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Holden c Foakes b Roach 43 (Surrey v Middlesex 131-4 trail by 40)

Great start to the final day for Surrey.

Max Holden went well yesterday evening but he's edged Kemar Roach behind.

The West Indian gets one just to straight enough and find a feather edge.

All four dismissals so far caught at the wicket.

  10. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 124-3

With James Anderson unavailable, this is a great chance for Saqib Msahmood to lead the Red Rose attack.

He's on a pace development contract with the ECB and will be keen to show what he can do if places become available in England's Ashes squad.

So far in this match he's been outdone by another England hopeful Craig Overton.

The Somerset man is also on the same contract and took four wickets yesterday.

    Three singles from the over.

50 stand up between Ben Raine and Matty Potts.

    Durham 220-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Matty Potts drives down the ground for two and then Ben Raine works another couple wide of deep cover.

Two singles, six off the over, 25 to win now.

  13. Anderson off the field againpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 116-3

Saqib Mahmood completes his over from day three and almost strikes with his first ball of the day.

It would have been two wickets in two balls after dismissing George Bartlett last evening.

He finds the edge of new batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore but it falls short of Daryl Mitchell at first slip.

Will Williams opens at the James Anderson End. No sign of the great man himself in the field though.

  14. Postpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Durham 215-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

This tremendous run chase is back underway at Chester-le-Street.

Two singles from the first over of the morning bring the target down to 31.

Can Ben Raine and Matty Potts see this off?

The injured Brydon Carse will bat at 11 if needed.

  16. Will we see Jimmy?published at 10:59 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 114-3

There's still no official word from Lancashire what the "minor issue" is that James Anderson picked up on day one which has seen him unable to bat or bowl since.

Reports have suggested it's a groin strain. The 40-year-old was out warming up with his team-mates this morning, but he's probably unlikely to play any further part in the match.

Durham 213-8 need 33 to beat Yorkshire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

You could cut the tension with a knife in Chester-le-Street this morning. It's a lovely warm day and despite the fact this could be over in the space of two deliveries, quite a few people are here to witness the finale.

Durham were cruising at tea last night. Chasing 246 to win they were 109-2 and seemingly in no trouble at all. Then they lost six wickets for 40 runs in 15 overs and the game turned on its head.

Matthew Potts and Ben Raine then restored some calm with a partnership of 40, which means Durham need 33 more to win but they are eight wickets down.

Brydon Carse will be able to bat, if needed, but has a side injury which may see him out for a few weeks.

Glamorgan thumped Worcestershire by 10 wickets in Division Two.
