  1. Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Essex 87-1 v Somerset

    Tom WestleyImage source, Rex Features

I said Tom Westley was a man in form - almost 600 runs at an average of 54 this season.

The Essex number three has struck three early boundaries and is up to a run-a-ball 17.

Alastair Cook looks unfussed on 31 at the other end.

  2. Postpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Lancashire v Hampshire 47-2

Typical. James Vince plunders 10 off the over from George Balderson with a sublime straight driven four and then a perfect leg-side clip to the ropes. Ruined his figures completely. Strike rate well above 50 now.

  3. 50 runs

up for Kentpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 50-5 v Surrey

Jordan Cox times one superbly to clip Jordan Clark off his pads and away to fine leg for four to bring up the Kent 50.

Sadly for the hosts it's the other five on the scoreboard which is currently more significant.

  4. Postpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Lancashire v Hampshire 35-2

Nick Gubbins had eight from his first 35 deliveries but takes advantage of a couple of rare opportunities off George Balderson to find the fence twice.

35 runs off 19 overs sounds much better, right?

James Vince, the country's leading T20 run-scorer ever, and also this season, is on four from 18 balls at the other end... like a Lamborghini driving through average speed check roadworks.

  5. 'Challenging for Sussex'published at 12:21 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Sussex 47-3 v Worcs

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A good opening hour for Worcestershire who had no hesitation after winning the toss to bowl first

The pitch has a tinge of green and more grass than the run fest here in the last home game against Glamorgan.

Joe Leach has picked up all three wickets to fall and his nagging line and length have constantly threatened the Sussex batters.

He’s been well supported by the other Worcestershire seamers, and with Cheteshwar Pujara away on Test duty this is a challenging morning for the young Sussex batting line up.

  6. wicket

    WICKET Browne c Kohler-Cadmore b Davey 33published at 12:15 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Essex 66-1 v Somerset

    Boy Somerset needed that.

Nick Browne completely mis-times a cover drive off Josh Davey and chips it straight to Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

In-form batter Tom Westley joins Alastair Cook in the middle.

  7. wicket

WICKET Leaning c Foakes b Clark 0published at 12:13 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 41-5 v Surrey

Five down. Jack Leaning tries to clip Jordan Clark off his pads but only succeeds in nicking to Ben Foakes who takes a neat catch down the leg side.

From 34-0 after 11 overs to 42-5 in the 17th. Surrey are rampant. Joey Evison joins Jordan Cox in the line of fire.

  8. Postpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Notts v Warwickshire 39-1

It's watchful stuff from Warwickshire's batters so far this morning against a fine Nottinghamshire pace attack.

Will Rhodes breaks the shackles with a couple of fours - first clipping Dane Paterson away and then pulling Brett Hutton with authority.

  9. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Essex 64-0 v Somerset

Six boundaries apiece to Nick Browne and Alastair Cook now as Somerset's bowlers begin to toil in the Chelmsford sunshine.

Browne whips Josh Davey off his pads to the rope to go to 32.

  10. Postpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Lancashire v Hampshire 25-2

25 runs from 15 overs and by my count there have only been two loose deliveries, both of which were punched to the fence by Joe Weatherley.

Atritious stuff. George Balderson has replaced the suffocating bowling of Will Williams, who has earned a breather.

  11. Division Two latestpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

There's been a recovery of sorts by Derbyshire who are now 47-6 against Yorkshire. Leus du Plooy and Alex Thompson have settled things down.

Rain has stopped play between Gloucestershire and Leicestershire at Bristol - the hosts were 38-0 when they went off.

Glamorgan are off to an excellent start against leaders Durham at Chester-le-Street. They're 47-0 with Zain-ul-Hassan and Andrew Salter going well.

Worcestershire are on top at Sussex. Joe Leach has just taken his second wicket, removing Tom Haines, to leave Sussex 29-2.

  12. wicket

WICKET Denly b Abbott 0published at 11:58 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 35-4 v Surrey

Off-stump cartwheeling. Golden duck. Four wickets in 13 balls. Abbott is on a hat-trick.

Denly shoulders arms but Abbott gets the ball to jag back and smash off-stump out of the ground.

Jordan Cox got out to a hat-trick ball on Wednesday - facing Sam Cook in a T20... but he survives this one, turning it off his pads for two.

Still, a horrendous period for the hosts.

  13. wicket

    WICKET Bell-Drummond lbw b Clark 0published at 11:56 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 35-3 v Surrey

Jordan Clark comes into the attack and fires in a yorker with his fourth delivery which crashes into Daniel Bell-Drummond's boot and draws the finger.

A fine delivery. A nightmare few minutes for the hosts who have lost three wickets in 10 balls.

Jack Leaning, standing in for out-of-form skipper Sam Billings, who is sitting this game out, joins Joe Denly. A time for experienced heads this.

  14. wicket

WICKET Weatherley c Bell b Bailey 15published at 11:53 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Lancashire v Hampshire 20-2

A fine low catch to his right from George Bell at gully has given Tom Bailey a wicket and sent Joe Weatherley on his way.

    James Vince joins Nick Gubbins.

  15. wicket

WICKET Muyeye c Sibley b Abbott 21published at 11:51 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 35-2 v Surrey

Two in the over for Sean Abbott.

Tawanda Muyeye would love this one back. He just wafts at one outside off stump and offers a simple chance to Dom Sibley at first slip.

Both openers gone in six balls. Joe Denly joins Daniel Bell-Drummond.

  16. Postpublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Essex 38-0 v Somerset

Essex openers Nick Browne and Alastair Cook are dealing in boundaries.

Cook flicks Kasey Aldridge off his legs to the rope to go to 19 and their decision to bat first looks to be a good one.

Plenty of plays and misses from the Essex batters too, but crucially they're both still out there.

  17. wicket

WICKET Compton c Jacks b Abbott 9published at 11:46 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 34-1 v Surrey

    The leaders make the breakthrough.

Ben Compton has started the season superbly but after a few weeks out of the first-team he departs for single figures after being tempted by Sean Abbott into a thick edge which flies sharply to Will Jacks who takes a neat catch.

Daniel Bell-Drummond, who has opened in T20 cricket with Muyeye, joins him in the middle now.

  18. wicket

WICKET Yates c Moore b Ball 13published at 11:43 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Notts v Warwickshire 23-1

Breakthrough for Notts and Jake Ball!

Rob Yates pushes at a full one from the paceman and snicks behind.

All of the opener's hard work in seeing off the new ball is undone.

  19. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Kent 31-0 v Surrey

Sean Abbott found the outside edge of Tawanda Muyeye's bat a couple of times in the 10th over.

The first drops short of Will Jacks and the second flashes through the vacant fourth slip area to the rope. Muyeye has 21 from 34 but has ridden his luck a little.

  20. Another wicket for Yorkshirepublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

    Derbyshire 24-6 v Yorkshire

It gets even worse for Derbyshire - Luis Reece is pinned lbw by Ben Coad for nought and they're 24-6.
