  1. 6 runs

and 50 up for Smithpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent v Surrey 168-2 (target 501)

Jamie Smith has been at the crease less than an hour and he's already overtaken playing partner Dom Sibley and reached his half-century off just 36 balls.

Sealed in style as well with a superb six. Smith then survives an lbw appeal before hitting Arshdeep Singh for four - and then another.

He's certainly bringing the excitement - and bringing what looked an unlikely Surrey win probability very much back into the equation.

  2. wicket

    Bartlett c A Cook b Critchley 15published at 17:11 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Essex v Somerset 117-3 (target 466)

A bit too adventurous, George Bartlett.

Matt Critchley has his second wicket as Bartlett tries a cover drive but succeeds in nicking an outside edge to slip where Alastair Cook takes a smart stooping catch.

At 90-1, Somerset looked like they still had a chance here but now it surely has to be a case of battening down the hatches for the rest of the evening.

  3. 6 runs

for Somerset's Bartlettpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Essex v Somerset 116-2 (target 466)

George Bartlett advances down the pitch and smashes Simon Harmer away deep on the leg side.

It looks like he wants to repeat the feat next ball but this time the spin fools him and Bartlett is somewhat fortunate to avoid a stumping.

  4. wicket

WICKET Vince c Bohannon b Mitchell 87published at 17:07 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 350-9

    This is probably game done.

James Vince has kept his side alive but can't reach a second hundred of the season.

He tries to pull Daryl Mitchell over square leg but finds Josh Bohannon in the deep.

The lead is 118 and doesn't seem anywhere near large enough.

  5. wicket

WICKET Bean c Du Plooy b Thomson 19published at 17:03 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Derbyshire v Yorkshire 38-1 (target 212)

My word that's a soft dismissal.

Alex Thomson loops one up and Fin Bean pokes it in the air straight to Leus du Plooy at cover.

That'll set a few nerves jangling in the Yorkshire changing room with 174 still needed.

  6. Out for handling the ballpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Gloucestershire 368 v Leics 258-5

Now here's something you don't see very often... Leicestershire batter Louis Kimber has just been given out for handling the ball... or obstructing the field as it's officially known now.

Kimber defended one from spinner Ollie Price but as the ball bounced up he palmed it away with his right hand.

After some consultation between the umpires, he's given out!

  7. wicket

WICKET Crane c Jones b Blatherwick 22published at 16:57 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 348-8

The lead at 116 as Lancashire break another partnership.

Jack Blatherwick hits the pitch hard, gets one to go away a fraction and finds Mason Crane's edge to second slip.

Hard work for Lancashire in this second innings but they're getting through Hampshire.

  8. Postpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent v Surrey 124-2 (target 501)

Jamie Smith has come in with an attacking mindset for Surrey after the departure of Tom Latham.

He's hit 24 off 17 balls, including five boundaries. That's rubbed off on Dom Sibley as he strikes back-to-back fours as the visitors discernibly step up the rate.

  9. Division Two latestpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

Yorkshire have made a good start in their pursuit of 212 to win at Derbyshire. Adam Lyth and Fin Bean have helped them to 33-0 - 179 more required.

Durham have just picked up the first second-innings Glamorgan wicket to leave them 86-1 and still trailing by 154. Stanley McAlindon got Zain-ul-Hassan for 48.

Leicestershire have got themselves on top at Gloucestershire. They're 258-4 and only 110 behind with Lewis Hill approaching a century.

Sussex all-rounder Fynn Hudson-Prentice has just gone to his fifty against Worcestershire. They're 260-5 in their second innings and leading by 198.

  10. wicket

Lammonby lbw b Critchley 59published at 16:43 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Essex v Somerset 90-2 (target 466)

    Genius captaincy decision.

Essex skipper Tom Westley turns to the spin of Matt Critchley and he gets rid of Tom Lammonby first ball with an absolute peach of a delivery.

The turn on it. Ooof. Delicious. Turned almost half the pitch - Lammonby tries to slap it away as terror quickly grips him but the ball is just too good, striking him on the pads, and that's out.

  11. 'Not a lot there for bowlers'published at 16:39 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Essex v Somerset 90-1 (target 466)

    Dick Davies
    BBC Essex

It would be an exaggeration to say this game is slipping away from Essex but they would like a couple of wickets before the close of play today and they haven't really looked like getting one, far from it.

The one they did get was a bit fortuitous too.

There's not a lot there for the bowlers at the moment.

  12. 100 runs

lead for Hampshirepublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 336-7

James Vince is onto 76 and has taken Hampshire's lead into three figures.

You'd still say Hampshire are well short of anything defendable at the moment but a stand here of 42 with Mason Crane, who has 21, is, again, just threatening to ask Lancashire a question.

But so far, the hosts have managed to find answers to avoid any damage.

  13. 50 runs

for Somerset's Lammonbypublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Essex v Somerset 86-1 (target 466)

Tom Lammonby just stepping things up for Somerset as Essex toil in the sun.

He's hit three boundaries in the past seven deliveries faced, which has quickly moved him past the half-century mark and on to 59.

  14. 'Important moment but still a big task'published at 16:33 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent v Surrey 95-2 (target 501)

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

That [Tom Latham's wicket] could be an important moment but this is a very deep Surrey batting line-up and it's still a big task for Kent to get through the remaining eight wickets needed.

  15. 'Too close to call'published at 16:29 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Sussex 348 & 238-5 v Worcs 410

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A fascinating session of cricket 127 runs and five wickets

At one stage Sussex lost four for four but then recovered through an unbroken partnership of 60 between skipper Tom Alsop and Fynn Hudson-Prentice

The ball appeared to be reversing throughout the afternoon and the Worcestershire bowlers exploited conditions to the full, at this stage this match is just too close to call.

  16. wicket

    Latham c Bell-Drummond b Qadri 58published at 16:26 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent v Surrey 91-2 (target 501)

    Huge wicket for Kent.

Tom Latham had enjoyed a couple of fortunate escapes on his Surrey bow on the way to making a debut half-century but he chips one towards Daniel Bell-Drummond, who takes an excellent catch.

A deserved wicket too for Hamidullah Qadri, whose spin has posed most of the problems Surrey have had to contend with.

  17. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Notts 155 & 141-3 f/o v Warks 571-9d

It's got marginally better for Notts in that they at least haven't collapsed for a second time.

But annoyingly for them, both openers got starts and couldn't go on.

They need some amazing middle order resistance to even make Warwickshire sweat.

Joe Clarke takes tea on 53 with Lyndon James 16 not out.

    Notts still trail by 275.

Three boundaries in three overs since the post-tea resumption at Chelmsford.

Two from Tom Lammonby and one from Tom Abell - Somerset showing a bit of ambition here. The number of runs needed for an unlikely victory dips below 400.
