  1. wicket

WICKET Gubbins lbw b Balderson 62published at 12:18 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 158-2

    Long-awaited breakthrough for Lancashire!

George Balderson is round the wicket to Nick Gubbins, angles one in and the left-hander gets outside the line and can't get his bat across in time.

A fine stand of 134 but at last an end open for Lancs.

But that end is now filled by James Vince.

  2. wicket

    Evison c Smith b Clark 42published at 12:17 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 290-7 v Surrey 145

The Qadri-Evison partnership ends at 117.

A shame for Joey Evison that he could not make a deserved half-century but he chips one up for Jamie Smith to take a comfortable catch at mid-on.

  3. wicket

WICKETSpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Notts 138-8 v Warks 571-9d

Notts had just managed to put together a little stand to repel Warwickshire for a while.

Tom Moores and Calvin Harrison shared 44 in 11 overs to begin to get something together.

But both have fallen in two balls!

First Moores, for 42, falls to Will Rhodes in his first over of the day.

And then next ball, Rushworth gets Harrison for 15.

    Follow-on looms large for Notts.

  4. 100 runs

stand for Evison & Qadripublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 273-6 v Surrey 145

Hamidullah Qadri swats Jordan Clark away for four to take his partnership with Joey Evison past the 100 mark.

A brilliant seventh-wicket partnership that has surely taken this game away from Division One leaders Surrey, who will need some rearguard batting effort to avoid a first defeat of the league season, when Kent opt to declare. Their lead is now 429.

  5. 6 runs

for Kent's Evisonpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 268-6 v Surrey 145

Joey Evison takes a leaf out of Hamidullah Qadri's book and advances forward to crash the off-spin of Will Jacks high into the stands.

  6. 150 runs

up for Hampshirepublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 154-1

    The comeback continues for Hampshire.

Nick Gubbins, now 60, and Fletcha Middleton, 64, have got through the opening hour intact.

With the sun baking down at Southport, they have a great chance to put Lancashire under some serious pressure.

The deficit remains 78 and the home side still hold the whip hand but one or two questions here for the Red Rose.

  7. wicket

WICKET Haider lbw b Hill 146published at 12:01 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Derbyshire 111 & 294-5 v Yorkshire 353

Haider Ali departs for 146Image source, Getty Images

Yorkshire finally break this mammoth fifth-wicket stand as Haider Ali goes lbw to George Hill. The ball nipped back and it was debatable whether it was slipping past leg stump.

The Pakistan batter departs for a magnificent 146 and it ends a partnership of 277 with captain Leus du Plooy.

Yorkshire are still strong favourites in this game as Derbyshire lead by just 52, but they'll want more quick wickets.

  8. 50 runs

for Kent's Qadripublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 258-6 v Surrey 145

    Fantastic half-century for Hamidullah Qadri.

He brings it up with consecutive fours off Gus Atkinson, almost hitting the umpire with one as he belts it straight down the ground.

Kent lead by 412 and surely they will declare after lunch. Maybe they'll let Qadri try to get a ton - he's up to 56 already. Not without a few scares, admittedly - the latest one seeing Ben Foakes miss a run-out chance.

  9. wicket

    Essex 462-9 dec & 65-3 v Somerset 167

    Commentator's curse. Standard.

Paul Walter gets a bit too carefree, flashing at a Josh Davey delivery and it flies straight to Craig Overton at slip.

The faster they can score their runs, Essex, the more time they will have to bowl Somerset out.

Paul Walter takes those words to heart, hitting Shoaib Bashir for three boundaries in four balls. Walter has already caught up Alastair Cook on 25 despite being at the crease almost an hour less.

  11. Bedingham departs for 151published at 11:50 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

Durham 443-6, lead Glamorgan by 53

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

David Bedingham didn't have much time to celebrate reaching 150 for Durham this morning. Having got to 151 in 245 balls he was then out next delivery, edging James Harris to the keeper.

It ended a partnership of 149 for the sixth wicket with Graham Clark, who has now moved onto 75. Bedingham also put on 171 for the fifth wicket yesterday with Ollie Robinson, who made 102.

It is another gorgeous day in the north east, with blue skies over The Riverside and a gentle breeze. We are expecting highs of around 24 to 25C. 20s plenty!

    Essex 462-9 dec & 51-2 v Somerset 167

Paul Walter is settled at the crease now for Essex.

A couple of fours in the space of three balls, off first Craig Overton, then Matt Henry.

The chief question at Chelmsford is when Essex will declare.

Derbyshire's superb fightback against Yorkshire has continued this morning at Queen's Park in Chesterfield.

Captain Leus du Plooy has just brought up his hundred and Haider Ali is unbeaten on 140 with their stand now worth 255. Derbyshire are 272-4 and leading by 30.

Durham continue to build their first-innings lead against Glamorgan at Chester-le-Street. David Bedingham is one away from 150 and Graham Clark has 75. Durham are 437-5 and lead by 47.

Sussex have started their second innings against Worcestershire - they're 23-0 and 39 behind.

Gloucestershire have just taken their first wicket of the morning against Leicestershire - Sol Budinger the batter to fall to Zaman Akhter's first ball. The visitors are 66-1 with in-form Rishi Patel 40 not out, replying to Gloucestershire's 368 at Bristol.

Canterbury resembling a building site at the minute as the crease re-markers are back on for a second time this morning - digging and painting.

Seems like the not-particularly-dainty feet of Sean Abbott thundering in to bowl are causing the issue.

for Nick Gubbins and Fletcha Middletonpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 133-1

Nick Gubbins and Fletcha Middleton put together a quietly-impressive stand yesterday evening to claw Hampshire back into this game.

They are still 99 in arrears but if at least one of them can go on to a chunky score, Hants may be able to set a challenging target.

Gubbins, who resumed on 45, is the first to fifty in 123 balls with seven boundaries.

Next ball, Middleton strikes his eighth four to reach his own half-century in 132 balls.

  16. 6 runs

Hamidullah hammers onepublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 219-6 v Surrey 145

Huge six for Hamidullah Qadri off Sean Abbott - and then another boundary two balls later.

Kent looking to amass runs quickly this morning before a possible declaration, you suspect - their lead's up to 375.

Qadri not shy to have a swipe at anything - and he's fortunate one falls just short of Dom Sibley at slip a few deliveries later.

  17. wicket

WICKET Mullaney c Rhodes b Hasan Ali 16published at 11:22 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Notts 96-6 v Warks 571-9d

Notts would have been hoping to put up some stern resistance this morning after their collapse from 51-1 to 74-5 yesterday.

But it's taken just 20 minutes for Warwickshire to strike on day three.

Hasan Ali picks up his third wicket to get Notts captain Steven Mullaney.

Now down to the bowlers, and keeper Tom Moores, to try and extend this first innings.

  18. wicket

Westley lbw b Henry 14published at 11:20 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec & 28-2 v Somerset 167

    Matt HenryImage source, Rex Features

Somerset's New Zealand paceman Matt Henry strikes.

He was unhappy a few deliveries ago not to have got the umpire's decision on an lbw appeal.

This time there's no doubt whatsoever as Henry raps Tom Westley plum on the pads. Essex, of course, still well in control at Chelmsford, their lead up to 323 runs.

  19. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 13 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 204-6 v Surrey 145

Kent's lead up to 360 at Canterbury where their mid-to-lower order is again coming good, as it did in the first innings.

We've had a slight delay here as a scuffed crease had to be re-marked but that did not affect Hamidullah Qadri who quickly dispatched Sean Abbott to the boundary upon resumption.

Early scare for Alastair Cook at a sun-soaked Chelmsford.

Matt Henry beats 'Chef' all ends up but Cook just avoids getting a nick as the delivery flies inches wide of the wicket.

Cook, of course, hit 128 in Essex's big first-innings declaration - and Somerset will want rid of him as soon as possible.
