  1. Lunch - Eng 325-1published at 54 overs

    Lead by 153

Ollie Pope won't get his century before lunch, as he goes in unbeaten on 97, but that is one heck of a session for England.

But it's been very one-sided and predictable. The question is whether England will bat on, or declare.

I have no idea, but to share his wisdom and take you through the interval and the afternoon session is Matt Henry.

  2. Eng 323-1published at 53 overs

In all fairness to Ireland, they are still giving absolutely everything in the field, as a full-length dive on the boundary saves two runs.

Ollie Pope moves on to 96, while Ben Duckett has now scored 100 runs in the session!

    Who would be a bowler?

They've been batting very calmly, there's no chaos. Both Pope and Duckett have been very composed.

  5. 150 runs

150 for Ben Duckettpublished at 51 overs

    Eng 308-1

Is that the easiest anyone will ever make a 150 look?

Joe Root comes out on the balcony to applaud, but quickly goes back in, probably to finish watching a box set as it doesn't look as if he's going to get a bat any time soon.

BBC commentator Henry Moeran on Twitter: Between 2008 and 2017 the average first innings score in all ODIs was 278. By my count, England have now scored more than 278 from 50 overs eight times in the last 12 months of Test cricket.

  7. Eng 301-1published at 50 overs

    Duckett 148, Pope 87

After 50 overs, England legitimately have a decent ODI score.

  8. Eng 291-1published at 49 overs

Genuine sympathy for the Irish bowlers here.

England are 292-1 with Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow still to come.

  9. Eng 284-1published at 48 overs

Feels weird saying that Ben Duckett looks like he is "going for it" now when he has 132 from 139 balls, but this slog sweep for four suggests he is going up another gear.

    Somehow.

  10. Eng 278-1published at 47.2 overs

There's only so many ways I can describe Ollie Pope hitting boundaries.

I'll just let you watch these two from earlier instead.

  11. Eng 273-1published at 47 overs

    Duckett 127, Pope 80

A couple more to Ollie Pope extends England's lead past 100.

    How many more?

  14. Eng 265-1published at 45 overs

My colleague Matt Henry, who will be joining you all shortly, said that he would eat the wrapper of his cereal bar if that Pope lbw was out.

Not wishing Pope to get out, but I'd have liked to see it.

  15. Not outpublished at 44.4 overs

Going over the top, but closer than I thought it would be.

Still comfortably Ireland's best chance so far.

  16. Ireland reviewpublished at 44.4 overs

    A chance!! An actual chance!

Fionn Hand thinks he has Ollie Pope lbw.

  17. Eng 265-1published at 44 overs

If Andy McBrine can somehow manage to keep going at three an over, he will be absolutely thrilled.

England are forcing other teams to play in the same manner to them to try and force results, and it's making it more entertaining. You see how many people are here today, people are just loving the cricket.

  19. Eng 262-1published at 43 overs

    Duckett 123, Pope 74

Ben Duckett drills one firmly through the covers for four, and then flays one in the air over the vacant slip positions for a couple more.

I think he's going to enter one-day mode now. Which for Ireland is a daunting prospect, to say the least.

Enjoy the best of Ben Duckett's knock.

OK, we all know this isn't Pat Cummins and co. But he has played brilliantly.
