Two more to Ollie Pope brings the scores level.
Jonny Bairstow wearing an England bucket hat on the Lord's balcony is not a combination I ever thought I'd see, but I rate it.

Duckett just doesn't have enough pace to place it into the gaps, but he's looking in good touch straight away here.
Oh, almost chaos.
Both Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope are stranded in the middle of the pitch for a split second after some confusion, but thankfully both make it back in time as the throw from the fielder is wayward.
Ollie Pope's cover drive is a thing of beauty. That's four.
Ben Duckett started the day in a very Ben Duckett way.
Mark Adair takes the second over, whose figures of 0-59 from eight overs make me feel a bit sad.
Just one from this over though, so I guess that's something.

It hasn't been reckless, it hasn't been gung-ho, it hasn't been like T20 innings.
Sir Alastair Cook
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Although Ben Duckett scores quickly it is not that flamboyant. He is very hard to bowl at. I am very interested to see how he goes against the best bowling attack in the world. The Australians will be a different kettle of fish. He seems such a hard batsman to stop scoring.
Ireland may not be having the best time with the ball, but their cable knit sweaters are a delight.

It really could be.

We had a chat this morning about England's approach didn't we, Phil? You said it could be mayhem.
Cut away for four.
That was predictable.
Right, here we go.
Ben Duckett, who was the talk of the day yesterday for his unfortunate position between Zak Crawley and Stuart Broad during the anthems rather than his actual batting, is facing the first ball from Graham Hume.

I wouldn't be surprised if England score at seven runs per over and are bowling well before tea.
Sir Alastair Cook

The occasion probably got to a few of Ireland's bowlers and this confrontational attitude of the England batters.
Ireland now have a free shot today.
Is there anything more 'Bazball' than Harry Brook having his throw-downs while wearing a bucket hat?
Niall O'Brien
Former Ireland wicketkeeper on Test Match Special
It was a difficult day yesterday. Nothing went Ireland's way. They were disappointing with the bat and ball. They have got say 'that was a poor day - a tough start against a good side. We must do better'.
Today they have to make England try and hit their best ball for four.
Yesterday gave us five Stuart Broad wickets as Ireland were all out for 172, while England finished the day just as we expected them to.
Only 20 runs behind, Crawley was the man out for a frenetic 56, with Duckett and Pope unbeaten on 60 and 29.
The pitch is flat. The sun is out. Something tells me a tough day for Irish bowlers awaits.
Good morning!
Let's go again. What does day two have in store for us?
Probably quite a lot more of this.
