  1. ouch!

    Aus 129-3published at 43 overs

Ouch. Travis Head has just smashed a half-volley into Ollie Pope's left arm at short leg.

Pope seems to be fine and has a smile on his face, but that must have hurt.

    Rachel T: Right. Wicket o’clock.

Christian Evans: Australia well on top at the moment, come on England, need a wicket from somewhere.

The invitation is there for Travis Head, and he is certainly accepting it.

I'm really intrigued to see how long Ben Stokes persists.

  4. 6 runs

    Aus 124-3published at 42 overs

    That is huge!

The assault on Moeen continues as Travis Head skips forward, gets to the pitch and launches the ball into the stand for six.

This is starting to become a bit of a problem for England. The partnership is now worth 51.

Australia got into a bit of a hole before lunch and they've looked to be a lot more positive since then.

There's been a slight change of tactic, they've definitely decided to take on Moeen Ali.

  8. Not outpublished at 40.5 overs

It was optimistic. The ball came off the elbow. Not out.

Still, England will be encouraged by that as Travis Head did not look comfortable at all.

He did get in a right tangle.

It certainly came off the body, but was there a bit of glove?

  10. Umpire reviewpublished at 40.5 overs

More short stuff from Ollie Robinson and Travis Head awkwardly fends it away and into the hand of a fielder.

Nothing given by the umpire - but England review.

    This feels optimistic.

If the Aussies are charging Moeen, bowl them wide and get Bairstow stumping them. Easy!

    Patrick

We just need another cheap 7 wickets before tea to get Warner out again when they follow on.

    Tony, Borehamwood

Australia need another 76 to avoid the follow-on...

England has not always been a happy venue for Usman Khawaja over the years, but he is looking calm and composed at the moment.

There was real conviction in that shot.

But Stokes still won't mind. All it takes is one to turn a little, bounce a little, and that'll be miscued.

Saying that, it's all well and good having that tactic until it doesn't turn and they just keep smashing them all out the park!

  14. Aus 114-3published at 40 overs

Travis Head charges Moeen Ali again as the ball takes a couple of bounces before going over the rope.

England don't seem to mind that though.

  15. Eng 110-3published at 39.2 overs

That was not far away! Travis Head goes after Moeen Ali again but his miscued drive goes past the diving fielder at mid-wicket.

    That could have gone anywhere.

Mark Wood is fielding. England would quite fancy subbing him in to bowl at Head right now.

It's quite an awkward pitch because it's not flying through, but when the bowler does dig one in short, it's coming at you slower - and so there is the chance that it'll just plop up gently in the air.

  18. Aus 108-3published at 39 overs

    Ben Stokes liked that.

Travis Head is given a bit of a going over thanks to aggressive short bowling by Ollie Robinson, including a rather messy attempted pull from off to on, before fending the ball off his hips for a single to escape the strike.

Thank you to the TMS team for bringing us the thrilling cricket today. Listening from Barcelona, where we’re mixing tapas and radio to impeccable effect. Did manage to briefly visit the Sagrada Familia this morning. Drew the conclusion that Wells cathedral is better (Somerset lads). Favourite religious architecture in the commentary box?

    Good shot.

Moeen floated it up, tried to find a bit of turn but Head has just bopped it straight back over his head.

    Still the field stays up...
